We'll have guests at my house this coming Tuesday (12/27), so I'm not sure I'll be able to participate. Feel free to replace me, and if I'm free at any reasonable time, I will check in with you guys and see if I can be helpful.
Duke, doorgunner, Krak and myself now have the Outbreak Prime. Special thanks to Achy for hanging in with us and also sourcing those pesky quest puzzles.
GMANX now has the Outbreak Prime quest on another character. We'll help him with that.
We beat Aksis 3 times but it was more complex than that. The first time we were sure we beat him but we all died. Got nothing. Second time we all died again, got credit for the win but the monitor access didn't open and Aksis was still hanging around. Third time was a charm with the monitor access opening and we got Gmanx's Prime quest going.
Yeah, phase 2 was a bit sticky, but we clobbered Aksis hard each and every time. The siege engine and phase 1, however, were both super smooth and fast!
Thanks to Deep also for extending game time to get that last try in and (quietly) hanging around the Temple until after fire team one got all the right boxes selected. After fumbling a little bit to remember exactly how to generate the math solutions the process was pretty simple. It just took time to fill in the 5 X 5 table of values to get the solutions for 5 players.
For team 2 I had to go back and get a new engine because it didn't like the solution I had already put in for team 1 (thanks Bungie). All in all we got 5 Outbreak Primes and started the quest for a sixth.
The whole process has been burned into my brain now and with 2 characters thru the process (Titan and Hunter) I can help others at various stages of the quest.
Also appreciate Achy's persistence and patience in all of this! Spent a few minutes before turning in leveling up the Outbreak Prime. Enjoyed watching the extra damage it does after precision shots. Looks like a keeper!
Just beware of precision kills in the raid - not fun avoiding those red balls of Siva comin' back at ya with all the other stuff trying to hurt you too.
In addition to Blam's warning, also be careful with it at Vosik. Those nanites sometimes cause the captains to jump off the map and to teleport back on at the "best" times.
Wonder how many times we actually completed the raid in one run. It's one thing to finish from a checkpoint, quite another to do it in one fell swoop. From what I can see, we still have a couple of "newbies" that still need to run monitors to start the OP quest.
Midnight Office requested to join the Tuesday night raid 1-31-17. He's been instructed to show up at 8:45pm eastern at the latest. He also understands that it's up to us to decide if there is space available. If so, probably the same routine: left side with Deep.
I'd prefer to be in the raid this Tuesday/Friday, but am quite willing to step aside for a new player next Tuesday (2/7/17). I will not be available at all the following week (Tuesday 2/14 or Tuesday 2/17) so those dates are open as well.
Original post was essentially a rhetorical question. With an established fire team one member would obviously have to step aside to allow a new person to learn the raid. I don't think anyone on this team would have an issue with doing that as long as we continue to raid.
However, NM has probably run its course. The problem with HM is that the team is split on pursuing it.
Another nail in this Raid's coffin was pounded home last night.
We completed the monitor run to get the Outbreak Prime quest. Much hooting and hollering going on.
Congrats! I'm told the NF this week is a pretty easy one to do, I haven't tried it yet though. So it may be a very good week to start that quest.

Holidays cause a lot of upheaval. We'll have to play it by ear.
Great run last night! Very impressive.

Congrats all!

We laugh at Captains.
We tried hard mode. Starting with 5 we beat Vosik phase 1. Then, with SC Ranger's help we made a few attempts at Vosik phase 2. Woah!
Then we broke up and did the Nightfall. Achy was the only person to get an Icebreaker. Lucky skunk.
GMAN is now the proud owner of an Outbreak Prime.
We had fun beating Aksis' ass yet again.
A very good result and time was had. We managed to get Agent1951 to Aksis phase 2. Put a pretty good beating onto Aksis too.
To clarify or muddy my comments from last night. I will continue to be exclusively available in this group's time slot for the near future.
I am available for the purposes of shepherding and Outbreak Prime quest in Normal Mode. I am not interested in Hard Mode.
I'd be interested in running in older Raids (NM), Nightfalls and Etc once interest in WotM wanes.
Same.
FYI, this Raid group has functioned for 4 months.
It took 2 months and 1 week to finish the raid.
It took 2 months, 1 week and 5 days to complete the raid within one 2 hour session.

Would be interested in running old raids, etc., as well.

Who is going to step aside?

I'm willing to sit out. I like helping new people, but I've run enough normal modes.
What a gentleman. You da man Krak!

GMAN is not available tonight.
