rFactor dumb question

So I got rFactor and I can't seem to find some kind of setting that is ruining my life.

Basically the car tries to steer itself.  i.e. the wheel turns to the left when I'm going into a left turn or right when I'm going to a right turn - like some kind of stupid auto pilot or something.  The game must surely know I'm horrible and is trying to do as much for me as possible but it is hell annoying.

I have all assists turned off.  I have a G27 - if that helps.

I am also very new to rfactor but it sounds like you need to adjust the forcefeed back.  What mod are you running?

ok seems to be a combination of FFB having to be at -100 instead of 100 and FFB Effects has to be medium or low.  Still needs some tweaking before it feels good but at least now it isn't turning corners on it's own.  I have the BTCC mod installed and working :)

Only some mods require -FFB.  And even then, it sometimes varies for Fanatec & Logitech wheels.  All you can do is hop in and try driving.  You'll know right away, as the steering wheel will want to "fall over" as it comes off center.  If this happens, reverse the FFB settings.  161

It does take a little getting used to.  Once you get accustomed to some of the rFactor quirks, you will likely be comsumed.  It's a phenominal bargin in the Sim Racing genre.  You really do need to get into some of the good mods to truely appreciate it.  The base content, while not bad, isn't anything to write home about.

I am pretty sure i have my FFB set to a negative number in the BTCC mod using my DFGT.  I was having the same effects as BlowMonkey when driving the BTCC cars, so I remembered how the V8's acted and changed it to -65 or so and the problem is gone.

Have a shot of the Peyergrosse and Transfagarasen tracks, theyre possibly the best road rally/hillclimb tracks out there. You will be a changed man when/if you managed to finish in one piece.

If you haven't yet, get into the habit of installing a fresh copy of rFactor Lite (only has 1 car & 1 track) for each mod install.  Certain mods don't play well with others.  All you do is replace the exe file that comes with the Lite install with a copy of the exe file from your purchased (original full install) rFactor.

Makes clean up a snap too, as you can just delete an entire program folder, instead of trying to guess which files are associated with which mods.

LOL. Glad we can help. Kurupt is just sleep deprived.

It is in all of our best interest to get everybody up to speed ASAP. That way we have some good close races.
