WARNING:

 

Do not spend any money buying Veteran/Spectre Packs just yet! According to the Bioware forums, the new maps are available, however, for some reason that hasn't been told to us, we cannot get the new characters via the Packs yet!

 

I'll keep an eye on the forums and let y'all know when they are indeed enabled to be won.

I was up at 2am and downloaded the map pack.  I Played Hydra, it's a water damn site I think, it played well but you gotta control the spawns or you'll get cross fire from all directions.

 

As for characters, "hunter" mode can be seen in one of the other other DLC threads in the video.  They show the Geth Infil and he turns it on and all the targets go red, i think he can see them thru walls as well like the Javalin sniper rifle's scope does.  If that will let me see the #(*&@$  Hunters....  i found my new class.

 

WHos up for silver/gold runs tonight?   Need money!  Actually i feel like being naughty and money glitching so i can get a bank roll to just buy a shload of packs.

 

Also found this over in the bioware forums, Characters and Weapons aren't currently available

Hi Everyone

The new Maps are now live, but we’re currently dealing with an internal server that’s gone down. As soon as we can resolve that, the new Resurgence content will become available in the Reinforcement Packs.

The new weapons and races are on the way. I'll post an update as soon as I have one. Thanks for your patience.

Hunter mode lets you see through walls and smoke, but you lose shield for using it. It's a toggle power. Hunter mode will NOT let you see cloaked enemies. The final evolution for it lets you see even further away enemies through walls. Of course, you can't actually shoot them until you can see them anyway. And if you're playing on gold you're probably camped in a spot with good sight lines so you can see them from far away anyway.

 

Ballistic blades just lets your batarian shoot blades from his arm at the enemy. Think carnage with blades, except no homing and shotgun range. The final evolution explodes after 3 seconds. Blade armor is basically tech armor but can't be detonated and hurts any enemy that melees you but will not prevent the insta kills from phantoms and such. And the batarian can't roll. Couldn't find any info on the web thing.

Saw thsi over in Bioware's forums.  Apparently there will be special Resurgance DLC packs to buy to get the content, you don't buy the regular specter / vet packs.

Anybody paying attention to the forums since yesterday should have seen this by now, but there still seems to be some confusion regardless so let me summarize:

Resurgence has its own special packs for unlocking characters and gear, so don't blow all your money on Spectre packs; the content isn't in there!

I've saved all this weekend so there is 600,000 credits just sitting there waiting. I should be able to get training points and customizations for the worst character at least 4 or 5 times.

UPDATE on the characters, weapons unlocks thru packs.

There's SUPPOSE to be a Resurgance Pack you can buy to unlock the DLC contents but due to another clusterfuck, these won't be available until next week.  So to bandaid the situation, they've added the REsurgance stuff into the Specter and Premium Specter packs so you at least have some small random chance of unlocking something new buying those.

 

Unfortunately, due to some technical issues - it doesnt look like we will be running the Resurgence Reinforcement pack this week... BUT...

 

... don't worry! Spectre Packs (and Premium Specture Packs) will be available containing the new content!

 

 

Taco : thanks for the clarificaiton on Hunter mode.  I guess that bursts my excitement bubble for the Geth Infil.  If all you an do is see guys behind walls , it's usefulness is pretty limited.  And if Hunter mode isnt' that useful, Proximity mine is worthless so really the Geth Infil kinda sucks then.  I'll stick with my Salarian.

Learned a bit about the geth engie from some PC folks. The geth turret acts as a shield pylon from the campaign, as long as you and your team are within range it restores your shield as well as does typical turret stuff and he still gets overload. Hunter mode is kinda crap, but those are 2 pretty good powers.

Hunter Mode at least on the Geth Infil does in fact show Geth Hunters when they're cloaked .  Iv'e been reading posts from people who have him unlocked already.

Also the Hunter Mode damage mods will stack with the Cloak damage mods ...  I can only imagine how hard I can make my Widow hit.  Downside is no energy drain or overload or any other useful power, just the worthless prox mine.  If they had have replaced that with stasis, overload, energy drain or even decoy, the Geth Infil would have been all tits !

Yeah, that hunter mode isn't quite as bad as the youtube vids I watched made it out to be. Faster movement, more damage, more accuracy and see through stuff, just half shield power.

The Geth Engineer can't compete with the Quarian for raw DPS. Overload is useful but the Geth can't self Tech Burst.

 

The Hunter mode puts up alot of lines and images on the screen. The brightness seems to get turned up but the edges of the screen are blured. The damage and accuracy bonuses are nice but not huge. The targets are easy to spot and track thanks to the red highlight but there was a couple times I blasted the wall. The lines and the images are actually horrible.

I wonder if the penetration bods would help shoot guys thru walls.  The Widow can do that without mods but only thru thin stuff like windows, guardian shields and thin metal barriers.  I wonder if a Level 5 penetration mod on the widow would let it shoot thru a wall.

AP stacks on AP mod. 

 

I don't know if the latent ability on the Widow, BW or Javelin will stack with AP or the AP mod or whether if true AP will override. If you note on the AP mod, there is a max distance that is depending on the weapon type. I think it ranges from a half meter to a little over a meter. Even if it is maxed out with a stacked L3 AP amp, at best you can still only punch through thin metal or thin concrete.

 

You will however, rip through squshy normal guys and practically ignore all the armor benifits on everything else. I rarely use the snipers so I have not tested it.

I tried lining up shots with my Widow and the AP Mod. After some trial and error I was able to land 1 shot(out of at least a dozen) through the large pylon on a mob, playing on the Tatchaunka(I know I screwed up the spelling) map, I think it was Firebase Giant but I always confuse it with Dagger.

When you spawn at round one, before you run out to the elevated bunker to the right, look at the large support beam/pylon that seperates the opening we all run through from the entrance to the building. That is what I was testing on.

I've been playing with the Kishock Harpoon Gun, and all I can say is don't. The damage bar on it is a lie, it doesn't do anywhere near that much damage with the initial shot. You have to shoot them and wait about 5 seconds for the bleed damage to do the rest. You also can't use it as an infiltrator because it needs to be charged before you shoot. As soon as you pull the trigger it kills your cloak, but if you don't charge it it does even less damage and the bullet drops off at an arc, and a very short ranged arc too. Unless it's fully charged don't expect to hit anything outside shotgun range.

I've only got a Widow IV but I can still take down two shielded guardians with 1 bullet (on silver) without the mods, so I might have to break one of these out to see what I can do to a bigger guy like an atlas

Yeah I don't play gold.  The one time I did we loaded up our best characters and we only made it through the objective on wave 3 - not even finished wave 3 cool

 

Good to know, though.  I try to get them lined up so I can hit two in one shot because of the reload time

Bah, I have no patience for lining up shots. Well, if we are talking boss mobs or some armored I aim for a sweet spot. Most of the time, I would rather put some lead in the air and I will see what falls over.

If I can catch 2 guardians at their spawn (or coming out of it) and can move slightly to nail them both in one shot, that's an extra bullet for the Atlas or the engineer I miss as he drops the turret... cool

I still think the N7 valiant has higher overall and single target dps. Especially for those of us who miss from time to time.
