There`s a new "old Git" in town ... (yep The Eagles rock)

I never really had an inclination to play video games,
however dark and mysterious forces were at play ...

Late in 2001 my 14 year old appeared out of the dark dingy (dungeon) basement and whined "I can't get past the flood". As fast as I could I donned my waders and descended into the murky depths, only to find it bone dry.

Biting my tongue I casually enquired "where be this flood son?" Pointing he said "over there in the corner". All I could see was the flickering on a TV screen. "It's as dry as a bone over here" I said.

In a voiced laced with more than a touch of sarcasm son was heard to think "not water you daft old git", but words like Master Chief, Covenant, Cortana, and Forerunner were heard.

It seemed the lad was playing with this new fangled thing called an XBox that his aunt had given him as an early Christmas present, and that he was having the bejessuz getting past some horde called the Flood.

This then was my introduction to the world of videogaming trying to work out how the Spartans might fight their way past the dastardly Flood.
It seemed the old git was good for something after all, however once son gained Halo friends the old man was relegated and left to choke on their dust lol.
The old git was left to wandered far and wide on the internet plains occasionally called in to hunt down information on the dreaded Covenant.

Halo Racing came and went, GW1 went very fast, then I happened upon a wondrous adventure named DDO.
Soon that too faded into the dim and distant past when Aion came around and I could flllllllllllly.

An item caught my eye about a Traveler sending out something called Ghosts in a search the stuff legends are made of. Can you imagine the excruciating pain (no not constapation) I felt when it said it was to only be on those dastardly gaming consoles.

One day this sleek black box appeared next to my desk; you see the Tower of Destiny has a forerunner called the Tower of PC and this fine tower was built by the very one called the Old Git.

Well I powered up the sleek black box and it started to speak to me. Old Git it said "you are the last of us" and one called the Traveler is hailing you".

Well I have practiced long and hard and I still find myself trying to move across the screen with W A S D or use the Esc key; but hopefully the intracies of the vibrating thing I hold in my hands will be mastered. For those with minds in the gutter before you get yourselves in a lather and vibrato your in for a dualshock cheeky

The Traveler sent me orders on 09:09:14 but the real Legend for the Old Git was PC to PS4.

At 59 and counting I could well be the oldest git in town wink

Beware though there is a darkness coming, which may very well drive a wedge between PC and PS4 it will be called TheDivision.

come help the "old Git" on his quest before his walker has a puncture, to find the little light at the end of a tunnel filled with darkness laugh

Definitely not the oldest 'git' in town. I'm 71 and we had an older lady with us in the over 50 Halo group on Xbox. Glad you have joined us and am just sorry you can't be part of the over 50 crew on Halo and Destiny on Xbox One.

Thank you for the welcome doorgunner and although I may not drive an xbox we can always spin a yarn on here and keep the youngsters amused wink
