An old procrastigamer finally says Hi 5 years after joining.

Hello and warm regards from a quinquagenarian gamer.[Someone between the ages of 50-59. Learned the word from a Google search--2 minutes ago.] Fell in love with video games from the moment as a kid I first encountered Pong at a bowling alley arcade back in the early '70s. Later befriended some neighbor kids who had this amazing newfangled console from Sears that allowed people to play  Pong on--get this--THEIR OWN TV! It was a time of miracles. I became a member of that family for the next few months.

Love games on pretty much any platform but was primarily a PC gamer for years (Lucasarts and Sierra games, Half-Life, Duke Nukem, all the Unreals, Quakes, Dooms, etc). Soon  fell away from PC around the time Crysis was realeased,though, after spending more time (and money) obsessing over graphic card benchmarks and/or resolving driver conflicts than playing games. And because most of my work is done on a desktop computer, frankly started to get sick of playing on one as well. Now I'm mostly a console guy. Have owned a bunch of  them through the years (3DO and Dreamcast are nostalgic faves). Mostly play on the XB1 and 360 these days. Will dust off the PS3 now and then for some Uncharted, Resistance, LOU, or Killzone. Probably won't get a PS4 until Uncharted 4 releases.

I've grown tired of mostly playing games alone. My lovely wife tries her best but she prefers watching over playing and has an aversion to using game controllers. Most of my peer group are professionals who don't share my love of gaming or outright sneer at it as a worthy pastime. Occassionially, young relatives will let the old dude into their party but that can only go so far before me or them feel uncomfortable.

So that all brings me here in the hope of hooking up with like minded fellow older gamers. I'm casual and easy to get along with. Not a hyper-competitive trash talker type but do enjoy friendly competition.

I love all kinds of games and am open to pretty much all genres but am kind of partial to shooters, racing games like Forza 5 and FH2, and the Fifa series.  I've played single player Battlefield 4, Halo MCC, Call of Duty but have yet to venture into multiplayer, which I really want to try. Tried some BF Hardline (Hotwire) and really like it. Also played some Titanfall (loved it) but soon stopped. Same with Forza Horizon 2. Objective based team oriented games really interest me. Enjoy online co-op games also.

Outside of a few onsite client visits per month, I work mostly at home. Flexible schedule and suffer from insomnia so am often available at odd hours of the the day or night.
