Bonjour from Quebec!

Hey guys, I found 2old2play through the WSJ article. 

My name is Carlos and I've been a gamer ever since the NES and mostly concentrated on consoles (SNES,N64,GC,PSOne+2+3, Xbox, 360) gaming with a little PC here and there.

I'm not new to mature gaming communities, I've been a member of a small group called XMG (Xbox Mature Gamers) for over 10 years now. I joined soon after I jumping onto online gaming when XboxLive was launched and I picked up RainbowSix3 and experienced the pain of playing in public rooms. 

10+ years later, being part of that community is what has helped me stay hooked on gaming online and gladly pay for my XboxLive membership over the years. Although I still play with many of its members I've felt that over the last few years the community hasn't evolved much or tried to expand outside of its forums, they've stayed small at 100 or so members with maybe 30% of it really active. This is limiting because you get stuck only playing with a only a few that like the game your currently into which usually means Call of Duty. Thus why I'm expanding my horizon by joining 2old2play. 

My gaming time has evolved over the years, back in the days of the Xbox and early days of 360 I used to play a minimum of 20+hours a week, buy almost every hot title on day one.

I'm no longer as hardcore a gamer as I used to be.  I have a 360, a PS3 and I've been discovering the awesomeness of Steam but since I'm limited to my MacBook Pro I don't play too much on it right now. 

I'm now 38 and the time I have for video games & gaming fluctuates a lot, I take breaks, I can go a week or two without playing (sounds like I'm talking about an addictive drug doesn't it?)and then I play 3 nights a row. I have other intrests, hobbies, life gets in the way. I'm not buying launch games, I take my time and play the best games out there. Once in a while I like to take breaks from the mutiplayer games and play a SP games. 

As for my personal life, I'm born and bred Montreal Canada, my family immigrated here in the 70s from the Acores. I have a serious girlfriend gf of almost 2 years who doesn't mind my playing because she can work while I do and she actually likes to watch me play (especially when the story is interesting! ) and the best/cutest pug in the world! Professionally, I worked for 13 years in advertising/marketing, evolving over time from traditional (radio/tv/newspaper) to online to search engine and social marketing. Online is where I truly bloomed in my career, I'm pationate about the web and its evolution, exploring and learning how to use new media and creating content on the web. Just over a year ago I left to join a company called Just for Laughs where I now manage the Gags online properties which includes its YouTube channel. I've since become completely engrossed in the world of YouTube, becoming somewhat of an expert on growing a YouTube channl and monetization content on it, I'm constantly learning and evolve with the web. 

Wow, this turned out longer than I hand anticipated! Anyways, I'm looking forward to playing with you guys! 

Currently playing: Just finished AC3 main story over the weekend, still playing Black Ops2 MP in my spare time, just started Heavy Rain, can't wait until Bioshock Infiinte!
