My problem with Skyrim...

I appreciate the ability to screw around with my character after the game is over... but I feel like there is no ending to the game, and that all my accomplishments have gone unnoticed by the people of Skyrim.

At least in Oblivion, you got a statue in your likeness.

The game basically never ends, what with the radiant quests and stuff. I like it. Always brings me back to do a few quests. It's not really about the story anyway. It's about being in the world and the experiences you have in it.

Not having a story really means you can't be disappointed by it...unlike other recent RPG's out there...

*cough*MASSEFFECTTHREEHMMMRR *cough*

Anyway, I too was a little disappointed that they didn't put in some way I could kill even more Thalmar (I hate those pin-heads), but I figure that's why there is DLC.

I'm having way too much fun to even notice. If you look at it the "primary" missions are really all that long. I really do think that they're prepping for the DLC to really open things up for the story-line. I hope so anyway.

The whole thing I like about the video games of today is that the ENTIRE narrative can unfold as you play, instead of getting it through FMV or CGI movies with gameplay sprinkled throughout. The days of Japanese play-for-your-movie games are over, and I say good riddance.

The "ending" of Skyrim was pretty underwhelming, I actually had to go online to make sure I'd beat it. I still prefer this style of ending to the "edit it in the dlc or none of this will make sense" approach they took in Fallout 3

I think the complaints from the abrupt closure in the Fallout games is what lead them to do it this way. Besides the modders were just changing things anyway (Yipee, free R and D).

There really isn't an "end" to these games anyway thanks to modding on PC. I still play Fallout 3 and New Vegas because of it. My Fallout 3 looks as good as my modded Skyrim. I can't stand to even look at these games on console anymore.

The Dragonborn DLC will hit Dec 4...the rumor is that there may be dragon mounts.

Hey Dragon...go to "My Page" at the top of this webpage, click the edit button, then the "Social" tab...enter your PSN ID and save.
