Help with Painting / Decals ETC

Well i spent ages doing a paint job, and got nowhere really :(

did the sides, front etc, but when i got to the back the spoiler wouldn't colour on the very back and front edges, so ended up painting it ther colour i wanted the spoiler to be and screwed over all my other bits.

someone give me some tips on how to paint quickly without spending hours and hours just for 4 colours at diagonal angles

do i create everything through decals, so they can be applied later on with slight adjustments ? but then you cant see the car you're painting on :( or while painting the car, can i save the bits as decals, so i can apply to various cars ?

you know, like a standard paintjob, like for the eusl. god i hate paintjobs, and why does everyone lock them when you buy them on storefront, means i can't put my number tag on then - ARGH !!!!!!!!!!!!!

II usually work directly on a car, and if I like something I group it and save it AS A VINYL...

In extremely rare circumstances, I will take a few basic shapes ina nuetral grey and mimic the cars shape, group it, and take it into the vinyl editor and get really serious with it, as you can blow the whole thing up huge when needed. This has happened maybe three times ever...

If you're going after a car serious, and want it just so, start by simply laying a contrasting color over it and see if there's any anomolies/weird spots that simply don't work. You can make a generic vinyl with crisscrossing lines ( think window screen) and use that to cover the entire car all at once, and really see where the distortion may lay.

As for a short cut to doing a paint in 1 hour instead of 4, that's called experience and if I could bottle it, you'd all bow down to me, bwahahahah!

Seriously...

If you'd like, I'll take a look at what you have and see if it's correctable, fixable? Some cars are just screwed up (thanks T-10) but sometimes there are ways around it. And sometimes you just shake your head and walk away (read as pick another direction). Stubborness = 4 hour paint jobs...

This is true, I´ve done few "paints" (just few basic shapes and then added the stickers), and still it takes way more than just an hour for me to finish a basic paintjob...Take my EUSL Scooby for example, I think it´s very simple, but it took atleast 2-3 hours to finish...

Guys like Oldschool, Painkiller or Stu would probably finish that kind of paint in 45min, but they are highly experienced with this.

Rogue, to help out 2O4F members with logos I have a few 'logo car' designs that I gift out. These have a number of logos on them that you can take off and use on your designs.  You can look at individual logos and see what shapes have been used from the editor to create the letter of image. Thread with the logo cars is below...

Anything you get off the AH or SF is locked. To get anything unlocked, it has to be gifted to you. And in order to gift anything to anybody, they have to be on your Friend's List. Welcome to T10 world!

flashy paint design!!       go to create vinly groups, the 1st vinly is a lines of 5. take that and strech that up. copy it and plant it nexted to the 1st one and so on. (do that 12x)  (use the coluor black to see it,as you slide them together). save vinly group.    step1. take car into paint car.  choose blue and gold from custom coluors.  step2 add your vinly group to side of car,  step3  copy and stamp vinly group again.  step4  change 1st vinly group to red (bright), and move one click to left. step5  change 2cd vinly group to blue  (bright) or just keep it black.  step 6. add a square vinly and strech it to cover whole side of car.  black and transpancey is 95% or 98%..  take car to view it and watch the coluors reflect..   play around with the coluors and have fun...  but remember the square is always black

Check YouTube. Do a search for paint tutorials and watch them a few times. I'm guessing that there are a few features in the livery editor that you may not be aware of. Shortcuts, if I can call them that. There are lots of little time saver features built in. I'll post a link when I find one. Right now im using my phone so it's tough to do that.

It's a very effective way to blend and/or raise something above another layer/color. In the top option while painting (position?), it's the last tab to the far right...
