I had to work my ass of to keep several drivers at bay. That race is in my top 5 all time since I've been in this club. Great job by everyone. BigDaddy, that was a huge challenge. Thanks for pushing hard and racing clean. Adikit, you were right there too. Felt like I had a target on my back the whole time. Great stuff.
Glad you enjoyed your first race with us Cat. Just know that we were all in your shoes at one point so please dont be shy. If there is ANYTHING any of us can do to help (tunes, paints, cars, track time, credits) let us know. There is something going on everynight so if you see any of us in a lobby, dont hesitate to join the session in process.
Will we be doing the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit next week? (there are 3 different tracks for Silverstone) Want to get in some practice so I'm not fighting for dead last with myself haha.
thanks for great racing. I love this Porsche and ..... the tune from Max!!!!! Thank you for that!
At the beginning I had problems with connecting via xbox live. After I did it finally - thanks for starting a little bit later - I could start with you, but suddenly my headset lost the sound from the game. The talking I could hear, but not my car. Thank God there was this caution. So I shook my headset off and turned on my speakers.
Well, my wife and my dog looked a little angry because of the unexpected loud Porsche engine, but I had trained and wanted to take part in this race. They left the room and closed the door. Another reason for my desire to take part in this race was, that I won't be there next 2 weeks (work). I will miss "my" The Ring.
After I settled down, I tried to come forward. Sometimes I made stupid mistakes, left the track, but I could follow the pack. My first overtaking was jormvangdr as I followed Skiwi. Just as I had planned to overtook him, he left the track and took the wrong exit. What happended Skiwi?
Now I had a bigger gap to close. General was ahead of me. I not believed at that time that I could do it, because in the last races he always was quicker than I was. But for me it is easier to achieve good times, if somebody is in front of me. The hunting makes me somehow faster. So i came nearer.
Max came from the pits and followed us. He had a good view of some awfull racing from me, as i tried to overtake General in a completely wrong part of the track. Consequence? I struggled over the sticky grass and lost my place to Max.
I think you couldn't hear me, due to my headset problems, right? It was better, because I was so angry with myself! AAaarrgghhh!
Then GIzzie made "the curch". He came back to the track and he only needed some corners and was behind us.
Max was more patient than I was. He overtook General in the last corner, as General opened the door on the inside line.
One round later the "battle" between General and me started. In the last corner before the finish straight I made my first attempt, but he cut back. The following manouvers between Gizzie, him and me is a perfect example for "Why I love racing with 2O4F". Fair, clean and space giving racing! Gizzie overtook General on the right side. General had planned to pit, but there was no room for. He had to race another round. On Generals left was ...... yes, I. I overtook him, but he came back. Side by side through the corner and then I did it again. Finaly I was able to stay in front.
In front of me now was Gizzie and I was able to follow him in his Martini Porsche for some corners. Than he disappered. He was so much faster than me. As always. Someday I will discover the secrets of you, fast guys. I will be able to follow you and far in the future lays my first overtaking from Fitzy, Max, Church, .... "room A".
Before I forget: Nice design, Gizzie.
For now I am satisfied. I have found some speed and today consistency. My fastest lap was by the way lap 17. A clean 2.06.512. Two seconds slower than the fast guys, but not 5 seconds anymore!
In the round after overtaking General I pitted and ..... I had so much luck. I was too quick at the entry and hit the wall a little bit. In my rear mirror I saw General doing the same.
After that I was relaxed and able to do some quick rounds. I managed to built up a gap between General and me. There was no chance to come nearer to Gizzie. So I concentrated to finish my race in 6th place.
All in all it was a good race for me.
I wish you all much fun in Le Mans and in "Green Hell".
