Still Alive & Kickin; Garfy Returns!!!

Hey Everyone, been a very long time since I've been on the forums, so much going on in my life, that I've had little time for gaming. Well I had to put off my second year of Med School due to both my knees being almost destroyed by a virus (body was over producing calcium and auto immune system attacked it) and being struck by a hit and run driver last year at work might have been the catalyst???

So I have to have my right knee surgically replaced on October 22nd and than the left knee will be done in April??? but the entire time that I've been hurting and dealing with the excruciating pain, I have continued to work for The City of Windsor on contract, which comes to an end on September 28th ( been a great working experience, going to miss it)

I have to get back to palying the Last of Us, even though I'm stuck with the game; picking up GTA 5 today for the 360, the online component could be interesting. So being told that I am basically confined home and need to heal ( 12 to 16 weeks) then a lot of physical rehabiltation afterwards, so thank god I went out and purchased both a PS4 (picked up Watch Dogs, Killzone: Shadow Fall, Infamous: Second Son) and a Xbox 1 (Dead Rising 3, Battlefield 4, and TitanFall); probably will have to get the PS4 version of BF4 in order to play with you knuckleheads.

Definitely missing going to Med School and continuing with Respiratory Therapy Program, which ole Garfy has been maintaining excellent grades and easily grasps the laboratory work (especially operation of mechanical ventilators); miss my classmates, but at least I'm able to return in Sept 2014, rather be a year behind and able to function physically in the hospitals, then in my current condition.

So I'll probably be seeing all of you online, sometime in the next few weeks!!! ;)

Have a fast recovery. Rest, stay hydrated and play games.  Before you know it, you'll be back in school.

Ah thanks everyone; I actually saw on the news that NASA was looking for people to remain bed-ridden for 70 days, I was like "Damn I can do that", but then I wouldn't be able to play with my shiney new PS4 & Xbox 1 (never be able to get the big screen TV, etc in my temporary bedroom downstairs); plus you have to go to Texas and be monitared the entire time, but an $18,000 paycheck for doing nothing would have been okay.

Yeah I'm definitely not looking forward to my upcoming surgery at all, but the fact remains that my knees are progressively getting worse day by day, even though you never would know that I'm in pain (always keep smiling and stay positive), the surgery is going to be extreme in nature, they are going to cut the bone in half, above and below the knee, and use bone from my hip for replacement parts, on top of all the metal screws, rods, etc. Being told that at age 47 that I am way too young for a full knee replacement, but there's still a chance my body could reject the metal, etc.

But you have to remain optimistic and keep focused in life, my goal is to recover fully, have the other done in March/April ??? and go through the entire healing process and rehab all over again (sounds like a lot of fun, eh !!) and get ready to return to St. Clair College and continue with my studies in Respiratory Therapy, it may take a little longer than expected; but it's all good!!!!  :)
