Steam + Linux > Steam + Windows

Yep, it's true. Steam (L4D2) has benchmarked @315FPS on a 32bit Linux platform with OpenGL

This is a significant improvement over Windows 7 64bit with Direct3D, which before testing was @ 270.6FPS

The testing on Linux allowed them to improve the way it runs on the Windows platform as well, increasing that to 303.4FPS

all in all, this is great news for Steam: more here: http://blogs.valvesoftware.com/linux/faster-zombies/

and yeah, 32gb ram. I work with machines that I've put 64gb+ in but I've never had more than 8gb in any machine at home. sad  They must be running the PAE kernel on that 32 bit Ubuntu install or it's only using 4gb.

fixed the link. the automatic link parser in the forums added a blank space at the end of it.

Very odd.
