Mouse mats

Do you use one ?

Do you use a " gaming " one ?

I tend to be wary of any gear with the " gaming " label, it costs a fortune and doesn't seem much different.

(The exception being the Logitech g400s mouse I bought )

Back on topic - so there's a Steel Series gaming mat for around $15.

Nice large size which appeals to me. The surface and all the marketing BS hold no sway with me, but the local store had none left. Only what seemed like the same thing ( Steel Series ), for FORTY DOLLARS ( before canadian sales tax ) !!!

Forty Dollars for a piece of material !!!

The kid in the store statred to explain to me why it was such a deal, but my mind had already left the building.

Do any of you play on a forty dollar mouse mat and is it the difference between total domination and complete humiliation ?

Or does it just look good next to your PC ?

I didn't even realize they made gaming mouse pads until I just googled it after reading your post.  I haven't even used a mouse pad since I started using an Optical Mouse many years ago. I thought they went the way of the dinosaur.  I couldn't tell you if they offered any additional benefit, but I guess it would be beneficial if you don't have a smooth surface.

The most important equipment for gaming goes in your computer case. Aside from that, only the Mouse is important IMHO... excluding peripherals used with Racing games and Flight Simulators.
