Microsoft Flight

OK so it's not an exciting multiplayer game, but the PC gaming forum has ceased to exist in V3. Anyway I just noticed on Steam that this game is not only out already but it's also free to play. Initial client download is only 2 GB (system specs say 30GB!!!) and I got to dick around with it for a few minutes last night. My initial impression: Meh.

They removed the word "simulator" from the title because it's no longer a flight sim. I'm so used to babying all the controls in Flight Simulator X but that doesn't seem to work in this game - it feels very arcade-y and unrealistic. However, the graphics are fantastic and it runs smoothly on my 3-year-old machine.

Anyone else playing it? Your thoughts/impressions?

I was going to but I ready stuff that said it was that great so I didn't.  I'm playing Rise of Flight http://www.riseofflight.com it's free with 2 planes, career mode, dynamic quick missions and multiplayer all free.....more planes / campagins and other addons cost money if you are so inclined.  It is a WW1 flight sim (snoopy vs. the red baron style lol) and it is stellar.  I'm going to buy a few more planes / missions etc.   I also just picked up a copy of MS Flight Simulator X but I haven't played it much yet though.

I'll check out Rise of Flight, multiplayer flight sim sounds really fun. Flight Simulator X is flippin' fantastic, especially if your computer can run it with all the settings maxed out (mine can't). If you can, set it to the best possible resolution and graphics settings and depart from Vegas at night - your mind will be blown.

After playing MS Flight a bit last night I started thinking about reinstalling FSX again. I played the shit out of it years ago but the program is so expansive, you'd need to invest hundreds of hours to see what it has to offer.
