I am really disliking the slow pace of Assassins Creed Black Flag!

I have played the original Assassins Creed on the PS3 and I loved every minute of it. So I bought Black Flag thinking it would be just as awesome. But the action in Black Flag is way too slow paced, there is way too much time between action. I think sailing around in the ocean is so boring, even taking over the ships is boring. I would rather be on land murdering people lol.

I'm maybe half way or three quarters through and I agree in some respects.  Didn't play 3 but I've played all the other ones.

At first I liked it, then it just got boring.  Then it picked up and kept me going and interested.  Then it seemed to get to a point where I'm constantly having to upgrade my ship to progress in the main story.  "You need to upgrade the Jackdaw to progress further in the main story."  Sigh.

I'm like you mostly - the sailing is NOT why I play Assassin's Creed.  I want to kill people and stuff.  So basically for me now the game sits half played waiting for me to upgrade the Jackdaw more so I can progress in the main story.

Well I feel better now knowing that I am not the only one who feels this way.

I'll go against the grain....

This was my favorite AC game yet.  I loved the ship battles - even though the last ship battle was a pain in the ass.

The one thing they really need to fix in the game is you can't have more than 100 people on your friends list for uPlay to sign in.  That means you can't play any of the "Kenway's Fleet" mini games, do the challenges, or the community discoveries.  From what I understand this is a bug on the Xbox and Playstation platforms.

The new patch fixes the FR bug.  I also loved this AC more than others I guess because I spend large amounts of time on the water fishing.

Played and finished all of 'em, and loved all of them except 3 (if I want to pick flowers and skin animals, I'll go back to Read Dead Redemption).  I didn't feel like the pace was too slow, because I either was traveling to specific points (and could use fast travel) or I was looking for ships to attack/board/etc.  I thought they did a pretty good job of mixing up the things you have to do, and the wreck dives were (if nothing else) beautifully done.  I really like Black Flag.

For the first few weeks I really enjoyed playing Black Flag. The ship battles were really cool at first. Boarding the ships was fun. After a while, they became painful, slowing the game down to a crawl. I haven't played in weeks, not sure if I'll ever get back to it.

This is EXACTLY how I feel, I think the world is just a little too big as well.

Being a pirate was more fun for me than being an assassin. I loved this game

I tried some of the other AC's but I found this one fun because of the ship combat.  A few things that annoy me though was a mission where you have to follow another ship without being spotted.  There were so many patrol ships that I kept failing and damn near took the game back.  My other one, is it just me or does it seem like the waterspouts somehow aim for you no matter where you go.   Waterspout is going to the right so I turn left and magically it is somehow heading right for me.

I absolutely love this game; searching for buried treasure, being an assassin, and sailing the seas and being a bad ass, is a whole lot of fun. As for the ship combat, it gets more chaotic and frantic, if you continue to capture forts through the map; I have one left to capture and it's being protected by a bloody fleet of ships, so I've been taking a break from Edward's story and been playing the Freedom Cry DLC with Adewale as the main protagonist ( I finding it to be a more personal and deeper story than Kenway's).

I'm glad the patch finally came out, because for the longest time, I haven't been able to access my fleet or let alone get into Uplay. Sure some missions for like rinse and repeat, but you've got to admit, AC: Blag Flag is one gorgeous game to look at on the PS4.

Somehow, someway, I am going to finish this game. I'm about 40 hours in and it honestly feels more like 400. The ship battles drag this game into the abyss as they are so repetitive, so boring, they practically ruin the game. I don't even board ships anymore, just sink them and gather their cargo. It's the same animations ever single time. Don't even get me started on Kenway's fleet. It isn't enjoyable in the least. I can earn more money by doing two mission than by searching dead enemies or treasure chests, thus I stopped looking for either.

/rant over.

Just finished it a few weeks ago. It's not the best of the bunch, but I enjoyed it. Did find it boring at times.

Even though AC Unity looks great, I'm getting a bit burnt out on the franchise. Time for a Prince of Persia game!

Now, if you'll excuse me, ready to wall run!

I have a love/hate relationship with this series.  I love the concept of the story and characters which sustains me for a while but eventually I begin to sour on the missions and especially the combat.  I hate the fact that there is little to no planning and execution when you are actually trying to "Assasinate" a target even though that word is key to the series.  I hate how once you are caught you simply counter kill guard after guard until you get away or kill all combatants.  Once this happens I tell myself I won't buy the next game in the series day one but when the game is on the verge of release I break down and buy it simply because of what I do love about the series.  The same thing will happen with Unity.
