While I hate to see ANYONE lose their job I guess this is what that dev house deserves. Socom was my first online game and the first 2 were big sellers. Unlike any other dev Zipper decided to NOT listen to their fans and take the series in a direction that nobody wanted, but themselves. I feel that 3 was the beginning of the end as do others in the Socom community. Even though it was a buggy mess, Slant 6's vision was closer to what Socom4 should have been. I can't think of any other game dev that had a golden egg and continued to shit the bed with each new game. Zipper had us "vets" by the balls and would of raked in the dough with dlc for a Socom that returned to its roots. Thanks for the early memories Zipper.

Red Storm, another storied house of multiplayer greatness, may follow suit after they shit the bed with this next Ghost Recon.  SOCOM, Ninja Gaiden, Resident Evil Racoon City, and now perhaps Ghost Recon.  My favorite franchises have failed to cater to my ancient tastes, and I am disgruntled.  Even Skyrim, while an impressive tech feat, was just sorta meh to this 39 year old.

Cant argue about Ghost Recon. It is not like the first two and plays nothing like them either. Theres a reason people still play the first two online. It did not need to be changed, just update the graphics and you have a hit. Im afraid the same will happen to this and the next Rainbow Six.

I'm feeling it too.

There's this universal feeling among game companies that shooters, FPS's and 3ps's alike, have to have some COD-ness to them or they can't sell.  Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is a perfect example.  Gone are the days of skill and tactical execution.  Its a 3rd Person Call of Duty.  The co-op is fun, but the MP gets frustrating after a few matches.
