And that's if this presentation is indeed true. I'm also surprised that they'd even bother with paying to liscence a BlueRay drive when it's clear that Cloud gaming ( and video) is their focus. I always thought that they'd use a proprietary high density disk drive to keep costs down, similar to what Nintendo did with the Wii not officially supporting DVD's.
M$ wants to bring all your home entertainment into one box, like the PS3 has tried, but failed to do. Which honestly, I'm all for. Less wires, fewer remotes, less stuff in my entertainment center. If they could find a way to work as my DirecTV box, DVR, Blu-Ray player, and game Console? I'd buy it, hands down. Because I have all that with different boxes connected to my TV. I'd love to consolidate things a bit. And if it has backwards compatibility with my 360 games? Bonus. I remember before the PS3 came out, I was on a panel for Sony to kind of give ideas of what I wanted to see in the next console, and a lot of what they pitched, I didn't like, and then the price was a killer. Now, all that is really cool, and the prices are better. I think it's getting time to consolidate this stuff a bit, even if I do still have all the dofferent service fees I already pay.
The charts in that article are annoying. All I want is a smaller system with a huge hard drive. Playing games off of a disk really wears on any system and wastes lots of energy. Load times a also much shorter which opens up the opportunity for large environments and lots of content. I'd love to see a 1 TB hard drive option.
I hope they don't radically change the controller but I would like to see them integrate that keyboard attachment for some games. Something more than just entering text. For example: if the next Forza had night racing players could use the H on the keyboard to flash the headlights. Or, some of the keys could be used during a pit stop to request specific things. IDK, just wishful thinking.
Oh and for entering text on paints, most those other functions can be mapped to wheel or controller as in rFactor or iRacing. Just as long as it has games to make us happy huh.
No I mean for entering text to put on the cars, instead of picking one letter/number at a time from the menu...And I am assured I have full authorization for dude, cool, way out, far out, and indeed far fucking out :)

LOL that is a step too far, an abomination that will never pass my lips, or fall from my fingers.
In that case shock horror, you are definitely not authorized to use teen speak, having no kids I have a lifetime pass to, cool old guy. You have a pass to embarrassing dad...Sorry thems is the rules.
Ah see, the classic surfer mistake, one track mind, all about the swells. You carry on sitting on your plank on your own, and I'll get on with the job of rescuing maidens and being cool.
I don't want to interrupt the battle but everytime something gets posted up in here I get to thinking that there is some new info on the XBOX 720. Can we get back on topic?
Interesting.
I hope the don't do a controller like the Wiiu
But with the Tablet specs and then the Stationary box specs sounds like they might. If the information is real obviously.
Although 12 Cores sounds insane
I am following the M$ news conference live. Its a tablet - the Microsoft Surface.
It includes access to various Windows apps, including Xbox. Not sure what that means yet!
More stuff to peruse, this is maybe a look into the future of the 720, your tv and your computer...Scary or exiting or Meh...

$299 target price point, interesting
And when it arrives here in Soviet Finland, price tag is at least 500€...
Is that on the black market?
