What class is your main character going to be?

Titan

(on xbone)

Just curious which way everyone was leaning in regards to your first character? Im sure most of us will have numerous characters after awhile, but there can only be one "first run through" choice. So what's yours?

Also, something like this could help when it comes time for endgame raids, if you want to try and fill a raid team with a good combination of classes.

I may start with a TITAN again, because change is scary and I have a tough time doing new things in the heat of battle.

I should really choose a different class because a lot of my friends chose that too.

FYI, Bungie said they learned from the Beta's data that the split between classes was very even.

Is that overall? In the PVE I definitely saw more hunters and warlocks, but the PVP was almost always mostly titans. That momentary invincibility you get with the ground slam makes for a great panic button.

Think I might run through as the hunter just to play with the throwing knife.

Umm, memory says they didn't break it down but considering the time frame of the Beta it must have been similar through all the modes.

I can't find the article now but others have seen it. All classes were in the thirties. Bungie was very pleased.

I didn't notice any temporary invulnerability during a ground slam. In fact, most of my ground slams in PvP were interrupted by enemy bullets. Annoying as hell.

Fist of Havoc had a skill that made you more durable when casting your super, but you still weren't invincible during the animation of it.

As far as the numbers of characters played, I believe the totality of characters made, it evened out to within a few percentages. Not really talking PvP or PvE just talking about characters made, period.

Thats good to hear. I chose the Titan for the beta too, but thats more just because it matches my playstyle more. Both the Hunter and Warlock abilities fire off rounds from a relative distance. Titans charge in, and end up in the heat of it, which is what I like to do anyway.

Who knows though, I kinda liked the Warlock too. Decisions, decisions...

I played a Hunter during my entire time with the beta and enjoyed every minute. I'll definitely start as a hunter and my brother is rolling with a Titan to start I believe. Bungie said the overall difference percentage wise between what classes were only separated by 2-3%, extremely evenly distributed.

I think play what you want and raids won't be all that class sensitive. While supers can be elementally biased, if you need a different element, pack a different gun :). If you really can level a class to 20 over a weekend though I could see most of us having at least 2 of not all 3 max level characters pretty easily.

I did read somewhere that they sped up the leveling for the Beta as well. So the fact that we were able to get to Level 8 so quick was more so we could see what the game had to offer quickly. The said some of the early equipment we got was over powered too for the same reason. So it sounds like we may be putting more time into each level once it launches. Which is good in my opinion. Level up too quick and the game will get old quicker in my opinon.

Level 20 is as high as you can level up to, after that you have to get new armor to level up your character even more.

Titan here on the PS4. It worked out good for me and my 2 friends I will play the most with. We all picked a different class in the beta and I believe they are planning on the same thing for the game.

Just in case you havent seen it.

For me, Im choosing a titan because you dont have to aim your super very much.  I have a wretched aim.

For people with a good aim, I dont see why they dont play a Hunter if they are interested in pvp.  Golden Gun owns.

I am going to learn the maps and gameplay with a Titan because he is more durable.

Hopefully, I can store away some good weapons and armor to help level up the other classes quickly.

You can't share loot.  You only get drops that are pertinent to your current character.

Actually you can share loot among your characters. You're given a vault that is shared among all your characters. I believe glimmer is also shared amongst all of them as well! I'll have to go look it up, brb.

IGN Talking about no trading between people, but you can share among characters: http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/04/28/destiny-wont-have-player-to-playe...

I took the question to ask if you can swap among different players and not different characters.

Sorry Dixon, I should have wrote "my other classes" instead of "the other classes." I don't think I asked a question though.

wink

Bear in mind that I avoided the beta because I didn't want to have more of the game spoiled for me beyond the Alpha (past experience with Warcraft betas always ended with me becoming burnt out much faster, so I figured why risk it)... With that said, I don't know much about the later skills/specializations but just going by basic class info I'm almost 100% certain I'm going Warlock as a main. That fits my typical ranged playstyle best. I can't think of a single MMO where my primary character wasn't fully ranged, usually a glass cannon, high dps/lower health (oh god don't pull aggro, don't hit me, runawayrunawayrunaway) type.

Don't blame you for holding out! What platform are you intending to play on? My brother and I are playing a Titan and a Hunter, respectively, so it'd be cool to have some more friends when we pick up our ps4s at midnight! We raided an absolute ton back in our WoW days as tanks and healers. Ahh the days of less responsibilities lol.

PS4. I accepted your friend request the other day on PSNetwork. :)
I won't have the game exactly at midnight, unfortunately. Won't be able to pick it up until the afternoon of launch day.
