I'm not suggesting two properties at the same time. Just a personal setting for either/or. I'm thinking of you poor disenfranchised descopers. I disagree about scope/descope being about game balance. Balance is an overused term anyway. Many people throw that line out there whenever they don't like something. Now get back to playing Halo (and I wish I could be there to play with you). I'm stuck looking over my wife's shoulder at terrible shows.

I played three or four games and tapped out. I'll whine a little bit about the gametype and map selections, but (hopefully) not seriously enough to bring anything down. Also, I left to make it 14 folks in the room, so that's nice and even.
Yeah, "balance" does get tossed around a bit much, though, accurately or otherwise.
Two of the biggest issues I have with Hal 4 are camo and the lack of descoping. Neither will be changed/removed in this iteration, but hopefully for h5. I understand 343's thought to remove descoping, but in doing so, it lowers the skill gap, as with many aspects of the previous 2 halos.
