Downloaded all your tunes off the storefront for the race and am really tempted to use the ZR1 Vette. I remember reading about how that was an evil handling car IRL anyway. Something about the rear suspension toeing in on acceleration and out on deceleration. Racers had to stiffen the hell out of the rear to help reduce that. Can't wait to see if it holds true in game :D
I'll be home soon...if you're still running....I'd like to join....whatever class and car you want me in Snappy. I'll grab'em all from your s/f as soon as I get on.
Surf and Sherb, sorry we missed you guys. We actually ran till about 10 EST. It was a good time and I think folks will enjoy the multi class racing on a mid size track.
Thanks to Motorhead, Project rx7, Grimstreaker, voodoodude13 for joining me.

Sherb, how did your Rolex race go?
I really need to read the whole thread.....totally missed time...got too excited when I saw the cars....lol
It was mental. I was running the Fabcar Prototype. Went 101 laps before a spin in T3 on lap 102. Quick trip through the grass and on my way. No contact w/ any cars or barriers for the whole race. I had one more trip through the grass coming down the final corner, missed the walls, but skipped across pit road enterance, and somehow picked up a drive through penalty. Finished in 5th, last of the running cars in class. Ended up completing 109 laps in the 1.5 hours.
Just a tidbit of information for everyone. I'd have to review some of the replays from last night but, I wanted to give you guys an idea of the lap times anyway.
The C lass cars were running laps in the 1:29's to 1:31's. The A class cars were running between 6 to 8 seconds faster lap times (1:21's to 1:23's). Of course, it varied depending on who was driving. Voodoo and I seemed to be on a similar pace with Grim just behind us. But, as he mentioned he was getting faster as the session went along. Motorhead was driving C class cars other than the ones for this event but was right in the mix. Good times.
Initially, I was using a 9 second delay for the A class cars then bumped it to 12 seconds. With the delay the A class cars would catch up between the end of lap 1 and the start of lap 2. It was very cool! (love multi class)
Just wanted to throw this out there for others planning to run the race on Monday. This is how I am thinking of setting it up...
30 would probably work out to catching the C class cars at lap 3 or so, and with enough people it'll take a full lap or two to clear through.I think I'll be running a Merc 300SL, but I was thinking about something. The more C-class cars the more traffic. Maybe limit the A classers to 6 and everyone else to C class?
And you know how I feel about damage. I think the fear of breaking stuff will make the traffic all the more challenging, and since all the C classers are pretty much evenly matched it'll make passing and communication all the more important :)
Besides, that 2nd to last right that pulls you to the wall is right on pit entrance so it won't punish you for long :D
At under a minute and a half per lap I think you're right and 30 laps is doable.
So, 30 laps it is. Remember, this is going to be for 800 MS points for the clas winners.
Sim damage is my preference as well but lots of people don't like it and feel it ruins the race if accidents occur. And quite frankly, there are usually not a lot of multiclass events so inexperience through dealing with traffic can rear it's ugly head.
Anyone out there spot any good videos that address how to deal with traffic in multi-class racing?
dealing with a slower car takes a little patience choose your slot and go but the slower cars should always be aware of the faster as they are SUPPOSED to give way
With 30 laps we'll get some overlapping happening too
And yeah, I know that the lower class cars normally do get out of the way, I generally just keep pace and hold my line and let the faster guys find the way around me. I will try to keep sliding about to a minimum if I'm blocking. You could always talk to the guy ahead of you too. Talking between the cars will make this a doable thing.
Surf, that was just a practice session. The real thing is Monday at 5pm EST...or 2pm your time. You're West, right?
Picked up the MS Points today fellas. The stage is set. I'll be practicing again tonight. Probably do a 12 lapper to see how long it takes for the A class cars to come around for the second pass. I'd love to have some of the fast/alien racers join me to get a feel for how long it takes. I'll be running in C class. I think I might take the Dino or the 914/6 since the other cars are spoke for.

Yup...I'm a west coaster. I still want to make the race Monday. I'll run either class.....I like the Dino in C also...Vette or Pantera in A. I'll run anything you need to fill the roster the way you want.
Aw, now I feel bad for taking the Merc. I can drive whichever one you don't want. That said, there's going to be duplicates of whatever cars are out there, I just wanted to put custom paint on whatever. I can easily make a Jagermeister Porsche as well it may be the quickest out of the corners of the bunch anyhow. Hope you don't mind I ripped the Vintage racing decal off of the Corvette and put it on the Merc. They always give out the series decals in real life anyway.
BTW, I won't be able to make it to practice tonight, I'm going to be visiting the folks but I should be back tomorrow evening.
The class winners will get a pm from me which will contain a code for 800 MS Points. I was so excited by this vintage September Car Pack that I decided to hand out some prizes for a one off event. I hope to get some feedback on these cars and this race to see if there is interest in a weekly event.
Like i mentioned earlier. I would like to see the faster guys run the A class cars just so the medium to slower guys have a shot at the prize too. We can run a couple 4 lappers before the race to see what the times are like. Hope to see you guys later!
Cheers snappy.
Good work Fitzy, although you do need to slide on your roof more.
If you need any help hit me up and I can give you some pointers on how to drive on your roof.
I'll run in the C class if you have space. I'll take a 2000 GT please.

I'll be distributing tunes and Practicing Tonight. Come join me fellas!!
About what time?

I'll be hopping on after my Rolex race I think (probably around 8pm PDT). After 1.5 hours around LRP, I'm going to be ready for some comedic relief..gif)
I'd like to say a big THANK YOU to Snappy Dee for giving me some tips last night and helping me drop 2-4 seconds a lap.gif)
My pleasure Grim. Glad to see it helped.

Infineon Nascar
20 laps
20 second delay for A class cars
Cosmetic Damage
Let me know what you fellas think.
Only 20, maybe 25-30

Due to budget cuts the German Jagermeister team will be fielding their backup car
What they lack in monies they make up for it in speedy mechanics!
I'll be running the 914 also, since it looks like there are more than enough A class and a little light on C.
Which is good, because it's the car I really wanted to drive anyways.
Da ve vill defeat thein inferior cars vif rear mounted engines und a crank shaft dat vill last a thousand years.
WIf ze superior intellect und gud paint!
Will be doing some testing tonight. Will even try and put some paint on the car I want
Big race today at 5pm EST!
