Thrustmaster TX Wheel - $348 with free shipping
This ebay vendor, Beach Audio in Southern California, is selling the TX wheel for $348, with free shipping. I just ordered one. Don't tell my wife. LOL!
What are you doing with the T500? PM me, dude.
Yikes, sorry to hear that andrew. I hope mine works OK.
The TX wheel is still available from this ebay retailer. $348 with free shipping is the best deal out there.
Hey Zero, when will you recieve it? I am looking at this but there seem to be alot of issues with reliability and inital setup. Look forward to your thoughts.
Thursday. I will provide comments by the weekend. Most of my time will be on the Xbox One and Forza 5, since I have a cockpit mounted Clubsport wheel for PC sim racing.
Thanks Zero. Do you have a custom seat/table that you will be attaching it to?
No. I am using my Fanatec Rennsport wheel stand. I will not be hard mounting it, rather I will use the claw mounting mechanism that comes with it. My Thrustmaster T500RS is currently mounted to the Rennsport and it works perfectly.
It's a little disconcerting how many issues I'm reading about. There's a lot of goodness to the wheel, but my friend had his pedals die, then the wheel died while he was trying to connect it to his PC to test it. Mine has the rumble feature die and requires several restarts to get it to work again.
Then there's the whole controller/wheel compatibility issue, and the lack of headset use.
Mounting is the same as the T500 I think. I have mine hard mounted to stand. It's great when it's working.
I guess I will find out soon. That being said, the feedback on the TX sounds familiar. The iRacing forums have literally hundreds of posts from users having problems with their T500RS and Fanatec wheels, including the newest Fanatec wheel, the CSW.
I had the Fanatec Porsche S wheel. I found it in someways more expensive feeling, but cheaper in others. It had a great leather wheel, but was stiched with a hard abrasive thread. The buttons light up and were nicely hidden, yet didn't feel entriely sturdy. Overall, I quite enjoy the wheel though. The thrustmaster is nice, and works very well...when it works. Hopefully the company is prepared to support their product long term.
