Hello everybody,
after more than 9 weeks at Sunday I was online again! Not back in real racing with you, but on my way to.
A heavy injury (back problems after a 6 hours (real life) race) was reason for my absence for the last EUSL III races. Aaaah, I was very disappointed and sad, but there was no chance for me.
I wasn’t able to sit long, neither to stand or to lay. And that few days before our holiday trip to Texel. Wow, I can tell you, that it was a “not easy” drive from our hometown to Texel. In an car with an camping van. I managed to do it. I think because of only one reason: I wanted to! For rmy family.
Well, after arriving, all went well. Okay, I had to rest a few days more, but then in the sun and without customers and less stress it worked out. My back was okay again.
As family we had a absolutely great time. Peace, sun, time, family, playing and laying in the sand, …… and I never slept so much like in those 3 weeks.
First day at home everything was like before. One phone call and I was on the run again. Business trip to Berlin. From Sunday to Friday. No chance for racing or for training.
And after one week in hotel, we built up the living room from my son. "I am not a kid anymore.", was his statement. He is now a teenager. So 5 castles and nearly 300 knights from playmobil had to leave his room. We played together for 13 years. Nearly everyday. And now……
Well, it seems that this change in his life is much more difficult for me as for him. I will miss my time with him. And I will miss our playing, story inventing and telling,…. I will look for a new house to rent, because I want to rebuilt our world. My wife thinks I am crazy and........ Yes. That is right.
Everything has it’s own time in life. I know that, but I am sad. Uuuhh, fatherly feelings and emotions from a midlife crisis.
For my love and wife I built up a new cheap racing setup in my homeoffice. There I only have a little monitor and not such a TV, and the place, height, distance to monitor and pedals is also less comfortable, but ….. we have now a family living room again. Sometimes we have to make decisions, right?
My first rounds in forza were terrible. I had to learn new. Looking, pushing,…… due to this long period of no racing and to that unknown setup. I lost all of my speed, which isn't as much as those "alien speed". But I will make it. I will be competetive again.
One another thing was clear after some time. I had to buy new glasses. I drove in Forza and no longer saw break points, curbs and so on. Now I have new glasses, which I’ll have to wear all the time. I have to learn to look through those “Gleitsichtgläser”, but they even helps in real life. Now I can see clear in distance, middle field and near.
You see, there was a lot of new things and developments in real life since June.
One thing is very bad for me. I will have to break my promise to buy and use a microphone. In future I will have to drive with headphones, because my son and my wife will sleep only few metres away. Our rooms are all together in the 1 floor. So my talking and speaking with you would be too loud.
I will have to wear headphones, but that is okay. Some cars have a really nice sound. And another thing is, that I now hear my tires a little bit better. May be I will be able to drive more onto the limit?
Last weekend I did’t race my first EUSL IV race with you. My time was so very behind all of the rest and I felt not good during driving. I don’t want to make mistakes during a league race and don’t want to cause problems for other drivers. So I will train a little bit alone and not online.
I am in Berlin again. Again for a whole week. So I will have limited time for practicing, but I am sure, that I will be “so fast”, that I will be able to race with you at sunday. With my Honda S 2000 . Silverstone GP, right?
I hope, that life will calm down a little bit in next months. I am working as much as possible, but those taxes and other expences are biting hard. More time on work, but less money to spend. That is Germany.
My last statemnent for today: I will come back. I miss you!
Bye and enjoy your races during week.

PS to Knight: It would be so great to see you again in Forza. I hate those technical and speed problems.
PS to Antz: Not all changes in life will be clear and explainable in the first moment, but all changes will end in something better!
PS to all: Nearly all of you have new signs below you comments. I think it is time for me to "paint" a new one too.
Welcome back mate - I always enjoy reading your posts :)
I'm sorry that you had that thing that every kid does, "im not a kid anyome," but, to you, they always will be :) When he is much older, he'll realise that and he'll spend more time with his dad, taking him to the pub or motorsport - what ever really, but father and son time :)
If you need any help with getting your speed back, or tunes, then let me/us know :)
Glad to see you back :D
Whew! Alot on the plate eh?! Well maybe the reduced father/son time will allow more race time. They all have to grow up sometime.Natural to want to be around peers more and them to grow on their own making they're own mistakes and successes.
Hope to see you on the track soon fella!!
Glad to see a former Div 2 driver back. I require some practice time at Silverstone, if a see you on maybe we can run a few laps.
