Every car, from the 1970 Nissan Datsun 510 to the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO will be 50 percent off, so, if you’ve got your eye on something special on the car list, now’s the time to play and add them to your garage! This discount will be available between 12:01 a.m. Pacific on Friday, Nov. 29 and 11:59 p.m. Pacific on Sunday, Dec. 1.

2) If you are a Forza Motorsport 5 VIP member, you’ll receive the 2013 Lotus E21 grand prix car as a thank you. (Note: You must own Forza Motorsport 5 VIP membership to take advantage of this offer.) In addition to being one of the most radical and expensive cars in FM5, the E21 is also one of the quickest. For more on the E21, check out its entry on the Forza Motorsport 5 Cars page. This gift may take up to 24 hours or longer to be fulfilled in the game and, in order to receive your gift, you will need to back out to the main title screen with the orange McLaren P1 and then press “A” to log back in.

3) Those players who have already purchased the 2013 Lotus E21 as of today (Wednesday, November 27) will also receive the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO as a further thank you. This gift may take up to 24 hours or longer to be fulfilled in the game and, in order to receive your gift, you will need to back out to the main title screen with the orange McLaren P1 and then press “A” to log back in.

4) For those players who have purchased the LaFerrari Car Pack or the Forza Motorsport 5 Car Pass we’ll gift the 2013 LaFerrari directly into your Forza Motorsport 5 garage. No need to purchase the car separately with in-game credits or tokens. (Note: In order to receive and use these gift cars, you’ll need to own either the LaFerrari Car Pack or the Forza Motorsport 5 Car Pass). This gift may take up to 24 hours or longer to be fulfilled in the game and, in order to receive your gift, you will need to back out to the main title screen with the orange McLaren P1 and then press “A” to log back in.

Yeah. There has to be some way to improve the online racing aspect. You know there's a lot of players trying to figure it out. Even saw a mod admit that the online racing was troubling...

You know after re-reading this they are changing nothing in the game just giving people some free stuff.

If they really was listening they would change things. Not keep everything as it is but heres a free car suckers.

If nothing else this WIR is showing that Turn10 realizes they have an economy problem with the game....as in its fucked for casual gamers.

This franchise will never again cater to the hard core race enthusiast but now they're ruining it for the casual gamer too.

I know.... no patches announced to add in anything and I honestly don't think they will add any new features. What you see is what you get.

I think the move to gift some free stuff is an attempt to buy good press since they are getting hammered on the pay-to-play crap with cars costing over $50 in game. This move to gift the most expensive car to LE will buy a little good press. But again, no big news.

I can see them finding a way to get more credits out there in many ways to offset the long term of the game. Bumping drivatard rewards, the monthly payouts, maybe even random credits and car sales (x% off) here and there to help here and there.

I wish I had a developer's ear! I would love to have my voice heard by someone that matters.

Regardless... missing from the OP:

Now, a word about tokens in the Forza Motorsport 5 Limited Edition. In our original description for Forza Motorsport 5’s Limited Edition, we told you that Limited Edition owners would get 1,250 in-game tokens, which we mistakenly said would be enough tokens to afford any car in the Forza 5. It isn’t. As a result, a number of you have pointed this out to us – that there are a number of cars in the game that cost more than 1,250 tokens to purchase.

We’re sorry. In order to make up for this discrepancy, we will soon be offering Forza Motorsport 5 Limited Edition owners the chance to download and own the car of their choice in the game. Players will be able to choose from any of the on-disc cars in Forza 5 and will be able redeem this offer on ForzaMotorsport.net via a dedicated page that will be available no later than December 16.

So LE owners also get one more car later on as well.

I just logged on and my E21 and LaFerrari were both in my message center. That was fast!

And for what its worth, I was planning on a few cars the next couple of days but I might have to wait until Friday to pull the trigger on some to save some credits. I wish they were starting later tonight because I was planning on running a bunch tomorrow since I have late Turkey day plans.

Anyway........
cheers
:D

Sadly that someone is not a developer and when you do have the ear of someone that matters be prepared to back up your suggestions with a good response to the inevitable "yeah but how will that make us more money?" question. I suggest using vague but positive (positive is a strong word - and vague) language throughout and make sure to use the words "focus" and "growth" for sure somehwere or directly together too lots of things work when you're saying nothing. Personally I'm 100% against the word synergy but a lot of people love this word so dont be shy....that felt good, rant over.

Being a dev I understand both sides. The side that as a dev you want all the cool and shiny things in there that make you and everyone happy...... and as a dev with a boss and his boss and his boss all looming over the time vs progress vs money... yeah..... I get it. But I would love to sit and have a beer with one or some of them.

I said this before in some pst somewhere, but nowadays social and sharing things is such the norm out there with FB, Twitter, Pinterest, etc, etc, etc..... Everyone expects these types of features/concepts in everything from apps to games to cereal. So I guess I don't get why T10 would remove all the building blocks they had in place for the social experience. We usually call it communuty, but the masses consider what we are bitching about the most (MP, lobbies, tunes and liveries, SF, AH, etc, etc) social features. I just don't' get the removal of some of the most advanced features they had built and groomed us for.

Anyway........ I'd rather have "beers with devs" than "game with devs" ...

:D

What has the world come to when a Parcells uses the work 'Synergy'!
