Rivals

Lately I have really been thinking about shelving forza.  I just seem to suck when racing against others, I usually screw up and come in last.  So I did two things tonight just messing around.  First I turned on some assist.  I had been running without any because from what I have read that's what you have to do to go fast.  Well after turning on abs and tcs I a having fun actually driving and not just slidding all over the place.

Second I finally tried rivals and actually suprised myself with a couple of times in the top 1000 range in D class.  I know for most that's nothing but I was happy.   I really wish I could tune cars because it's hard sometimes finding a tune for the car I want to use.

Finally feel like I can at least drive somewhat.

I use TCS and ABS.  I don't care what anyone says.  Sure, it prevents me from being as fast as the really fast guys but I have more fun.

There is nothing wrong with using ABS and TCS, i use them all the time. Turning all the assists off doesnt make you quicker in my view, if you need assists, use them. The only assist we all say should be turned off is Stability, that does not help you at all.

The only way some of us faster guys improve our laps times is by hitting Leaderboards or Rivals. It helps with your racing lines, braking and carrying speed into a bend.

If you need tunes for cars then just ask, myself and others will always have tunes saved.

I use traction and ABS and manage to crack the top 1% most of the time...I also use a braking line. I don't feel compelled to turn off what helps me just because other guys do it...it's my fucking game and I'll use whatever I feel is helping and turn off what I don't need.

It's all about the FUN! Who cares what you use :)

If you need a tune for anything let me know. Might not be the greatest but I get by with them.

And if you need a whipping boy to make you feel faster, I am always happy to help out :)  I think the main idea behind disabling TCS and ABS is to force yourself to learn better control of your acceleration and deceleration.  It certainly forced me to correct some bad habits.  I still run with ABS on though.  After all, its about having fun.

Oh, and I also use the braking lines still :)

If you like the D class you should consider joining Gizzies Mini Cooper 1965 series if you can make the time slot.

I finished last in nearly every race of the Aussie V8 Supercar series Max hosted so if your slower than some of the 2o2p's elite, you wont be alone. :)

I do not use any assists, but I have no problem with folks that do use assists.  As Jones said, its your game, play it however the fuck you want.

Are you on a pad, or using a TX wheel Ammo?  I enjoyed the game on the pad, but it became a whole new game with the TX wheel, GTE rim and T500 pedals.  Forza 5 is now my second favorite sim racing game, only behind iRacing and now ahead of GT5 and GT6.

I'm using a controller right now but I hope to get a TX wheel maybe next month. Hard going from a CSR to a controller, took a bit to be able to keep the car on the track.
