The MCC really killed my excitement for the series. I remember when Reach and H4 were on the horizon, I used to scour sites looking for new info. Then when new trailers and a release date were announced it was time to board the hype-train.
Now, I'm just of the mindset that I'll get H5, but probably not at launch. Considering how bad MCC was at launch (granted it's like comparing apples to oranges), 343 has to earn my trust, so I'll be waiting to make sure the game actually works before I spend money. As a result, I'm just not that hyped for the game.

Bingo. Couple that with the fact that this halo board (and 2o2p in general) is no where as active as it was in the past. Most of my fellow 2o2phalo clan has moved elsewhere due to the no clans policy. I think Clops and Free are the only active posters left here aside from me from that clan. And Reach and H4 didn't help the population either.

I finally completed all campaign missions on heroic for all 4 MCC Halo games a few days ago. Gave me a fresh perspective, and it highlighted some of what I already knew or had forgotten. For example: The games played very very well, though the X1did freeze once during the time it took for all 4 games. Love the music, love the creative dialog. The Halo story is compelling. Halo 4 plays and looks current. The H2 campaign is still my least favorite. Tried to join a couple on my fr list who were playing a campaign mission last weekend. It wouldn't let me.
Not super-excited, but I am looking forward to H5. Hopefully the population will stick around longer for this one so that MM will be decent for a while.
Like others I am disappointed that many of my friends seem to be no longer interested in Halo. Unfortunately, I think many of the old-time Halo players will be put off by the new movement mechanics that will be in Halo 5. It's not like the Halo they remember, so they don't like it. Personally I like some of the changes. That's fine, I can adapt. I actually like sprint. I am a fan of thruster pack also. It's way better than camo and armor lock.
After playing Destiny lately, the different mechanics of H5 aren't looking so bad anymore. Even with sprint and clamber and stuff, it'll still be better than the utter randomness and unpredictability of Cruclble (which basically feels like Fiesta Slayer to me). Hell, Crucible makes Halo 4 look like a great game by comparison. Plus it'll be nice to get back to a field of view (FOV) that doesn't feel like I'm wearing horse blinders. Destiny feels like the FOV must be like 50 degrees or some other ridiculously low number.
I really liked the H5 beta, I am getting very bored with all the medicore One games and I'm ready for a true next gen game. I hope E3 shows us some BTB gameplay and campaign stuff.
Yeah, I haven't been impressed with titles on the xbone so far. Quarter 4 this year looks great though. It will be tough to split play time amongst all the games.
All that aside, the moment you say anything nice about Halo around here, the evil trolls drop by with their stenchy bile.
I am hoping H5 will be a good one, even if it's not good for me.

I got the MMC as a gift and I've tried really hard..........for 10 minutes or so.....
