I've been running the pre-alpha for the past month on pc and must say its the real deal simulator with the best graphics I've seen in a race game to date!
On a side note i quickly found out that forzas handling is quit forgiving compared to project cars! Lol
It will be released for pc, 720, playstation and possibly the new Nintendo what ever its called ?
I was so pumped seeing this but after visiting the forums over there, I am afraid its an april fools joke. I hope its not... Dam I need a gaming PC.

Agreed, if you can swing it, PC is the way to go. So many more high quality sim racing options, and much more horsepower, which means better graphics, physics, etc. That being said, I still love Forza 4 and GT5.

Good to know man, I might have to get a gamming PC in stead of the next gen xbox, didnt realize that I could get one for $600 bucks or so. I thought it would run $1500 and up, there is so many racing games (sim) on the PC that I would love to play.

On the PC build issue, I started a thread on another site and got a lot of input on what to include on a build. Just keep in mind that you get what you pay for. You can certainly build a gaming PC for $600, even less, but what are you looking to get out of it? You can play the game, and certain ones on high eye-candy, but games like Project C.A.R.S. needs more horse power if you want to run with all of the nice stuff. If you want to run triple screens you're into another level of graphics card(s) as well.
I am trying to put together the recommendations from the responses (when I find the time) to have 3 levels of builds. Entry level (but enough to play current games) through High-end. It became clear that even entry level you would be north of $700 to get anything out of the current games like iRacing. rFactor 2, P-C.A.R.S., etc would need something a little beefier.
I am running rFactor on an ancient PC and I cannot afford to upgrade right now (need to start from scratch). It runs OK but it is an old game. I won't even attempt to run the other stuff. Hoping to have a new machine for when rFactor 2 is released, whenever that is.

emcee, I scanned this build and its pretty good, very similar to my budget build, although he is right to recommend that Core i5 2500K, over what I have in my budget build. Its the best deal in CPUs today. zedarchitect, is correct, though, in saying that the 6870 may not be enough for your triple screen needs. I can guarantee that you will want high level performance from your triple screens, and you likely will not be willing to accept the compromises that come with running triples using the 6870.
You might consider a Radeon 6950, which gets good ratings at the iRacing forums:

Emcee, I know you're going to want to run your tripple screens so keep in mind that you may need a better GPU than that. If you want some solid advice there are a few guys on here that know their isht. Lawyer, Spaz, just to name a couple. Lawyer is running triples and has two PCs, one high end, the other a mid level. He's extremely helpful. I bet he'll be chiming in shortly since he plays all the new titles.
nice1 zed.. i was hoping to build that pc because it has the XFX Radeon HD 6870 which has eyefinity which i thought ran triple screens from the same card.
Am absolute noob with PCS knowing relatively nothing. Also.. flat broke since wifey lost her job 3 months ago. so.. no pc for me for a while.. but plenty of time to start getting my head around GPUS, Motherboards and overclocking.. (wtf?)
emceechild, I have the 6870 GPU in my desktop PC, and it does a decent job with triple screen, even at 5760 X 1080 resolution, which should be your goal (its 1080p per screen). The problem is that you will have to make some significant compromises on the eye candy. I got iRacing to run on my 6870, but I had to turn down the eye candy significantly to get playable FPS at 5760 X 1080. I prefer to run all games on my gaming PC at 1920 X 1080 per screen, which has a Core i5 2500K CPU and dual 560ti GPUs. Here are my recommended specs and comments on a budget build and mid level gaming PC, which are based on builds I did last summer, but updated to account for current prices and availability.

Comments - This is largely the same as my gaming PC (I use the 560tis in SLI), except I had to swap out some comparable parts, same manufacturer, because some that I bought last summer are no longer available. I have had an excellent experience with this system, I can run almost anything maxed out. This system drives my multi-monitor set up quite well. I get 70-80 FPS in iRacing 5760 X 1080 with all eye candy on (just got it to run last night, woohoo). Yes, you can go with the cheaper Antec One Hundred case. I love mine, it has plenty of extra cooling options and ample space. Don't skimp on the CPU, PSU, GPU and MOBO. I didn't and I am so glad. Yes, you need a 1 TB hard drive, even though hard drives are expensive right now. Go 7200 RPM. The Core i5 2500K CPU is the best value in CPUs right now, and it performs at an amazingly high level.

Comments - I know, I know, I did not include the 9800 GT GPU that many of you like. I just cannot recommend a GPU that is four years old. Please forgive me. Moreover, I checked newegg and the 9800 GT is out of stock. Its only $100 cheaper than my recommendation, the Asus Radeon 6870. The 6870 is IMO the sweet spot right now in terms of value. It is ranked in the Top 15 in PC Gaming's GPU "Hottest Hardware" list, just below the 560ti (but $60 cheaper). This system is very similar to my budget desktop PC, and it has worked wonderfully. You are not going to be able to drive iRacing on three screens at 5760 X 1080, but you can definitely run it maxed on a single screen, or at lower resolutions on three screens. Also, keep in mind that with AMD, you only need one 6870 to run Eyefinity triple screen, which is easy to use and you can mix and match monitors with different sizes, resolutions and sync polarity.
Heh love all these assumptions about the yet to be built next gen Box...I suspect this, the Box has always had a great race game ready for launch, that wont change and I think they will knock the ball out the park with the next one. Console specs and PC specs have never really been comparable. Programmers have just one configuration to deal with with a console and can and indeed have to squeeze every ounce of performance out of the things...still time will tell.
yup...the Eyefinity works but I think I read that it has a hard time with Project CARS or something. It may be fine for iRacing. I'm trying to wrap my head around it as well. Not sure I'd bother w/ a new Xbox when it's released.
Yeh.. I'm gonna keep these ones.. but i dont plan on buying anymore consoles.
PC is def where i want to be headed. I really want to build a hydraulics rig.
