cheeky

So as the closing date gets nearer on the house I'm in the process of purchasing, I started half looking for a truck to deal w/ the move and renovation projects over the next few years.  While browsing through Craigslist, stumbled across this little diamond in the rough.  1973 F-250 4x4 (factory highboy) longbed.  390 FE, 4spd manual.  Kargo Master lumber rack.  Should make for a decent little (ok, so maybe not so little) workhorse.  Always had a soft spot for the old 60's/70's Ford trucks, but never had any justification for actually owning one.  There is a bit of rust, as expected for the price, but all in all it's mostly there.  Ended up driving it away for $1600.  smiley  Needless to say, w/ the 390, there is no way in hell this rig will ever be a daily.  laugh  It's role is to support the weekend home projects and material hauling.

My one boys first and current truck is an 89 XLT Lariat 4x4 302 5 speed short bed, not exactly  a work truck, but it does in a pinch. Actually only the wife doesn't have a 4wd at our household, other boy has a Forerunner and I drive a Dakota extended cab, hence the reason for the bikes (mpg). That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Did it come with the repair manual shown in the foreground? Good luck with it and the house. We bought one in September and can't afford any projects, lol. Luckily we were able to move in w/o even painting any rooms. .

You do realize that you're required to grow a mullet before you're allowed to drive it?

I would allow a Mullet wig, so as to look presentable when not driving it... And I hope you went to the Wal-Mart and bought you soe new sleeveless t-shirts to wear about the Home Depot while shopping.. ;) Nice truck though.. I had a '79 F-150 Ranger back in the day with the 460.. Man that thing was fun. :)

y'all act like there is something wrong with being a redneck.

I pride myself on being a "refined" redneck.

Oh, and Doc, I never said it was a bad thing!  wink  Everybody has a little redneck in them, some are just afraid to show it, and some aren't afraid to embrace it.  cheeky

That truck being clean is just wrong.... Find it a nice comfy mud hole..... Damn northerners don't know how to treat a truck...

How do you spot a redneck? He has a home that's mobile, and fifteen pickups that aren't...
