Yeah, they do that pretty regularly. I've fought the urge thus far due primarily to a lack of time. I'm too busy already w/ RL, FM4, GT5 and rF. And just purchasing the house isn't exactly freeing up any time. Doh.
I have avoided trying any other race games so far. Too little time. Do yourself a favor and avoid looking into Project CARS by Slightly Mad Studios. Or you'll finding yourself juggling yet another good SIM Racer.

Heh, the only reason I went to rFactor was the Gone Broke Racing/2O4F link, then there are some GBR guys doing iRacing so I thought why not have a look. For me it's the people that make the game. Project Cars looks amazing but I don't think my Pc is up to it anyway.
Got my first race with some of the GBR guys tomorrow in iRacing. This is the most unforgiving Sim out there. Get it wrong and that is all she wrote and it's a trip to the pits. Even going over a curb can damage your car, and sliding into one can wreak your steering...Much care must be taken in this one, and the in car view is forced and I am not a fan of that. Still removed the on screen wheel and pushed the view forward so not too bad, but this is a sim that really demands a three screen set up.
Triple screens is a definite plus in iRacing. There have been many instances where I would have had a wreck, but avoided it because I was able to see the asshole coming up on my left or right side and was able to move over to avoid contact.
iRacing for me requires a different mindset than Forza or GT5. I look at iRacing as a survival game. If I can just avoid a wreck, chances are I will finish in the top 10. I even won a race in iRacing by using this philosophy, after the first 5 or 6 places took one another out. I also would say that the NASCAR in iRacing is unparalleled. The two series I participate in regularly are NASCAR. They have that nailed and the guys that do it are generally fun to race with. Don't get me wrong, I love GBR Spazcar, but that is a different kind of racing, with a less powerful engine and different physics.
Yeah I just tried adding a second monitor but of course iRacing will only see three and my system is just not up to it. It will just have to wait untill a three output card drops into my price range. I'm more a touring car fan myself but then I have never done nascar, expect I will if I hang around here long enough.
Half an hour before my first race...just knocked two seconds off my lap time for three laps forth lap hit a bump on the track and wreaked...this sim is tough.
The best part of playing and learning how to drive these intense pc Sims is when u come back to forza the driving seems so easy lol u can throw the cars around like rag dolls and still have control of them never even passes my mind of spinning out...pc Sims every exit bump tap who knows where you will end up. They are definitely intense, and need a lot of practice to get better. Very rewarding once you get it tho!
I just picked up a new GTX 670 for $399 best bang for buck IMO capable of running a 3 screen setting, not sure if your looking for pc parts but ive slowly been upgrading my pc to have a 3 screen setup for the launch of project cars next yr ....send me a message I might parts available.
With the launch of 3rd gen Intel and gpu products you can pick up some top of line gen 2 stuff for cheap now even cheaper used on ebay :)
+1 on that. I did okay in the race, qualified third and so nearly finished fourth, I got stuck behind a lapped car and he lost it and forced me off track. one visit to the pits and ended up fith. 2 hours of racing flew by, cristal clear comms and intense concentration. I loved it. Messed up the start as I didn't know you had to click the go to grid button LOL so started from the pits. Yes in comparison forza is a game...They are going to have to do something special with F5 as Pcars is also heading for the Xbox and that will be interesting. rFactor 2 is also out there and that is destined for my hard drive. PM on way.

I don't think I'll stick with it to be honest, just always been curious and $10 for three months seemed too good to pass up.
That's what she said.

Knight, the really nice ones are 5 screen buddy. Good luck!

Stay strong Knight and don't let the fools trick you into NASCAR. Once you go down that path, forever will it dominate your destiny.
I doubt it mate, I like corners. Now I undertand that American cars don't like go round them, so they have come up with NASCAR as the solution.
