Not good news from Sundance for future of MLG Halo.

According to his recent tweets, there seems to be some type of contractual/deal that is in the way of lettings H4 be on the MLG circuit. He also goes on to say that 343 has expressed interest in "working" with MLG, but as to what that is who the hell knows.

And if you continue reading his posts, it has the impression Sundance has a hard on for making COD the game to replace Halo. Now if he is just doing that to push a resolution with MS/343 or his hedging his bet, only he knows.

I was reading about that too. It's because Virgin Gaming has the contracts for whatever, at the moment.

It's always possible MLG can get back in the groove later in the year. Though I really don't care for MLG, I do care the community gets some kind of competitive environments to pursue their interests.

i certainly don't think all is lost for the comp world without MLG, but it certainly makes things tougher to pull together.

COD!?! REALLY?!?

Probably some money going under the table there.

Not just under the table.  CoD sells more copies and isn't platform dependent.

Right, don't assume Sony isn't putting on just a little pressure as well, or at least sundance is trying to play them against MS and the Xbox.

At this point, I'd rather MLG not even have a stake in comp Halo. It seems they have, rightfully so, become more concerned about expanding a business and less about the Halo comp community that gave theirs a jump start.

Get some settings out from people who know what they are doing.

I watched some mlg Cod this weekend...It is basically camp the corner, kill dudes to get the KS (or what ever they are called) and gametype/maptype start.

Not hating on it, it is the mechanic of the game, you "technically" do not set up team shoot positions since it is 2-3 bullet kills or a head shot.

Just not sure how this is more exciting. I think the appeal at least for MLG is the population playing it and the shout cast stuff built into the game.

The bolded is saving a lot in production costs apparently.

Response from the CM of Virgin gaming "losly" answering the questions and issues regarding MLG and Halo.

Link is to the Halo Councils website, that has basically copied and pasted the forum post from Halo Waypoint.

LOL, I don't think I learned anything from all that hocus pocus. Oh well.

I think watching MLG H4 is exciting. I can't even follow the COD games I play.

This is a question that is bound to come up, so we may as well address it here. I admit that I’ll be short on this topic, but as clear as possible.

Last summer we signed a deal with Microsoft to develop an application to allow gamers to use the Virgin Gaming service directly on the Xbox console via Xbox LIVE. You can read more on this partnership here. My sentiments about competitive and casual tournament options are echoed in that release from last summer.

Our deal was with Microsoft, and Halo 4 falls under the Microsoft Game Studios catalog.

We wish to express that we have no ill intent, and have nothing but wishes of continued success to Sundance and the rest of the MLG team.

This is as finely crafted a piece of gobbledy-gook as I've seen since the election.

Right now mouth breathers everywhere are nodding their heads and saying "I agree completely...I think."

I think CoD is very boring to watch. I like playing it, but not watching it. I really think Halo is done in MLG. It was always nice to have the MLG settings because everyone followed them. Now we aren't going to have a standard to play to.
