Good.  With no Firefight maps and no Invasion maps (and, therefore, splintering of the online community?), they'll put more resources into making maps in the gametypes they have.

The resource diversion for Halo 4 will have been good.

I am a bit concerned about the population. Spartan Ops is supposed to "scratch that itch" which is Firefight and now Invasion. The question is, will it? Some people exclusively played Firefight or Invasion.

They don't matter, Deep.  Remember?  The majority of folks never touch multiplayer.

True about the majority but those visible multiplayer minorities do matter, even if we personally don't like what they are playing.

It'd be a shame if Firefight/Invasion lovers didn't migrate to new Halo 4 playlists.

It'd even be a shame if MLG exclusive players didn't find a new playlist that suits them. I am currently speculating there will not be a MLG playlist for the first few months and then dependent on eventualities after that.

I am of the opinion MLG lovers will not be too excited about Spartan Ops. Will they give up on Halo or move into a new playlist? Time will tell.

So, the minority doesn't matter, but a majority of that minority magically does?

I'm pretty confident that competitve folks will have a playlist or two there.  There are always custom games.  There's a long-standing tradition in customs in Halo, and there's no need to change that yet.

Personally, I don't care about Spartan Ops.

Gah! I'm not always sure where you are coming from.

The minority of the minority do matter. They matter to me. All these metrics help keep Halo going.

I just have issues with the minority (of the minority) pushing an agenda that doesn't suit the market for that game. Essentially, they would love it to death if they got their way too much.

I truly see that I fit in the larger group of people who must be courted in order for the title to be a success. Not by age of course but by my choices.

I love and play Campaign a lot.
I buy all the DLC maps and other Halo shit.
I love Custom multiplayer with friends.
I love trying to Forge a few good maps.
I like and play Firefight a lot.
I like but infrequently play MM.
I like films.

So when I see suggestions that could make my enjoyment of the game reduced, I think, maybe it is hurtful to a lot of people and thus be bad for the title's popularity.

I've always been at odds with the MLG attitude, but I still hope for them to find a niche in the current Halo. It's good for everyone. Even cranky me.

have always been about the co-op/teamwork of game.

just hope to come across some of that here in the future with these/this game mode.

BTW. I meant visible minority ^^^ to mean the number of players visible in the MLG playlist at any given time.

Sorry for any confusion or any confusion created by this clarification.smiley

I will miss Invasion. I use Firefight as pre-tournament warm-up, especially the Skirmageddon gametype, so I hope Spartan Ops will suffice. Note- I'm not saying I hope its a good gametype; I'm fully confident that it will.

i like firefight and will miss it. my boyfriend pkays ff all the time (his prefered mode) and we frequently play that game mode together heart

we can be more social together in that mode than in regular MM.

im hoping that one of the halo4 game types will satisfy what is working well for us in reach

I liked Invasion, but I'm not that sad to see it go. Like Dixon said more maps that will force on good gameplay in normal MM.

I did not play FF much it seemed alittle pointless, but Spartan Ops maybe more fun.

Firefight was my favorite thing to do alone, but MM is always more fun with a group.
