Microsoft recently acquired the web domains for Halo7 through Halo9 at .net and .org addresses.

Interesting, no?  We could be not even halfway through the numbered Halos planned at this point.

I wouldn't be surprised, but I've heard of companies buying websites for similar sounding URLs and names even if they don't intend on using them. I remember Guitar Villain and Band Villain were secured just to keep competitors and knock offs from appearing. I wouldn't be surprised at all if there is a Halo 7 many years from now, though.

I read that too. It makes sense in that it would be embarassing for MS if 6-8 years from now Halo is still wildly popular and some jackass squatter wants a mint for Halo 7.com etc.
