I'm saddened to say that Bungie's board of directors terminated me without cause on April 11, 2014.

There are those who said this day would never come...

For more than a decade, Marty O’Donnell filled our worlds with unforgettable sounds and soundtracks, and left an indelible mark on our fans. Today, as friends, we say goodbye. We know that wherever his journey takes him, he will always have a bright and hopeful future.
We wish him luck in all his future endeavors.
So true. I listened to the H2 & H3 soundtracks just the other day. I bought both CDs not long after they released. Choral is integral to classic Halo. It adds so much.
According to iTunes, both H2 and H3 soundtracks received 5 stars. I suspect a composer, an orchestra and choir are not cheap. Could be that game developers are evolving in their attitudes about their games. Where Bungie/Halo was a leviathan in the gaming industry, nowadays the flood of developers could see themselves as just producing another "product" with a limited shelf life - cut costs to produce a better bottom line. Though I wonder whether music CD sales mitigate the cost...
It doesn't matter how you slice it, this blows.
I still listen to those soundtracks all the time.
We have been out of town. Just found out about Marty's departure.....wow!!!???? His music is such a part of some of my fondest memories from video games.
Good job, Bungie. First Reach, now this.
This would be like George Lucas firing John Williams.

Yeah, it's all making Bungie look rather sleazy. They would've probably been better off coming out in the open about why they made their decision.
