King of the Track March vs Juan Pablo
A new Rival event just popped up for the King of the Track starring NASCAR driver Juan Pablo (gamertag:JuanPMontoya42).
It isn't open yet... the message says it will open once he sets a time.
Car: 2009 Corvette ZR1 (stock I assume)
Track: Indianapolis Gran Prix
Time: 0:01:32.574 dirty lap - 03-08-2012
NICE!!! I was a huge JPM fan before he moved to NASCRAP. I miss having his personality in F1.
Here, here. Only reason Parcells checks in on weekly Nascrap races is to see how JPM is doing. Would be awesome to have him in F1 this year putting 7 champions in the field
Parcells has a drinking problem. Just go with it...he's on a roll....
Is it Autocross with track dryers?
Think I read once he's a big fan and player of sim racing games.
Should be a challenging KOTT this time.
I was afraid I insulted him as a NASCAR fan
Good luck in trying to insult Parcells Zed
I got confused between JPM and Kimi. When JPM was in F1 Schumacher wasn't ready to allow other drivers to win the championship!
Ooh.. KoTT will be a good challenge.. :)
this is going to be a tough one...JPM is very into both Forza and IRacing
I like Juan cause he's pretty much proved that nascar is the hardest form of motorsports out there

Note to self: Superstocker is stupid
Perhaps it simply proves that NASCAR is more competitive, and that Parcells is less tolerant...
Juan Pablo Montoya is undoubtably one of the most talented drivers out there. He has won in anything and everything he has climbed into and established himself as a top driver in every series he's ever driven in....until now....except for a couple of road course victory's (one was nationwide) he's been shut out of victory lane.
here's a clip of a show he did with Jeff Gordon back when he was still in F1 where they swap cars at the Indy road course. and where I think Juan got his nascar itch
Jeff Gordon laid down a lap less than one second off the pole speed that year at Indy...in his very first time in an F1 car ......and the first time he'd ever driven the road course....that's pretty impressive no matter what kind of background he has....and i'm pretty sure that background doesn't included any open wheel road racing

That Trading Paint show was great and I have much respect for Jeff Gordon after I watched it years ago. I think he would do well in other series as well. Do you really think the rest of the NASCAR field can do the same? I'm still surprised Tony Stewart fit insode of the McLaren! Also, and I am being genuine, how competative is JPM's car and team? Is his teammate winning races?I honestly don't know. We all know that being on the right team at the right time can trump talent.
Montoya has been in top notch eqipment his entire nascar career...you think Chip Gannassi would have anything less?. His team mates have all won in the same equipment so you can't say it's due to equipment...or lack of
Fact is, no open wheelers since Mario Andretti and AJ Foyt have ever been succesful at nascar...and both those guys started their careers driving sprint cars...on ovals. Juan Pablo is just the only one that's really stuck with it and i give him credit...he's almost got it.
on the other hand we see nascar drivers jump into road race cars all the time and they do quite respectable angainst drivers who do nothing but.
Trust me, Nascar is a lot harder than it looks....and i'm sure JPM agrees
Thanks for the info. I tried to watch but I couldn't get into it. I'm sure it isn't easy to do, but it sure is boring to watch . Kinda like golf and baseball
How dare you, blasphemer!!!
Gordon's racing started in carts. Technically I don't know if that's open wheel, but he's been all over road courses. The biggest difference in the Nascar rides is the increased weight/decreased downforce. A potent unsettling change from Formula/Indy car.
I do follow all sorts of motorsports including F1...i never miss a race
.but don't you guys find F1 boring when the outcome is pretty much decided after the first few turns?.......where the leader gets so far in front that he can pit...and still not lose his position.
i'd rather see good close side by side racing where you have no clue who's going to win till the last lap...now that's racing
...and i shouldn't have said "open wheelers" lots of nascar drivers have open wheel sprint car oval experiance including Gordon and Stewart.... "road racers" would be more acurate.
ive always said you want to wantch racing find a touring car series, real door to door racing either in BTCC,WTCC,DTMs aussie V8s or the swedish or dutch touring car series its just the best racing to be had. now if you want the spectacle go watch nascar or even stand on rally stage.no a great big fan of F1 its boring
Juan set a lap - dirty so far, but if it was clean it would be a good time so far.
0:01:32.574
only 750 or so people but that time would fall right around #100 so... this could be a real good one once he sets a clean lap.
OP updated........
Ok folks. Let's start another topic & get back on track with this thread please.
Speaking of which, the topic isn't displayed at the top of the thread. makes it a little harder when you're 4 pages in and have a short attention span...
you know, like Fitzy.
Shhhh, using IE....
