The New Online Lobby
Designed to support your desired play-style here and now
The Online Lobby of Gran Turismo 5 is still popular today, and many users from around the world gather together to race their favourite cars on tracks in highly customisable conditions.
In Gran Turismo 6, features that were not supported officially in the previous title will now be included: online lobby time trials, drift trials and races with qualifying rounds are just a few examples. Users will also be able to create customised rooms tailored to their favourite play-style and these settings can be saved and shared with others.
Being able to set-up a room with your favourite settings easily, and being able to share it immediately with other users are only examples of the "new instruments" that will be featured in the new title.
I can finally do Qualification events before a race!
Damn this shit is awesome!
Tyre Model
Through the cooperation with Yokohama Rubber, a variety of tyres ranging from “Racing” to “Street” were analyzed. Detailed information and data not available to us until now have been integrated in the tyre model: the tyre structure, compound, load and changes in cornering force due to the slip angle have been captured, analysed and introduced in our new model.
Adaptive TessellationAdaptive tessellation is next generation technology in terms of 3D model rendering. Tessellation involves dividing a polygon into multiple geometric tiles, and in adaptive tessellation, the polygons will automatically divide and become finer according to the viewing distance and position.
This makes it possible to maintain the quality of the renders very high whether you are close or far from your viewing object.
Some nice night shots:
I have high hopes and expectations for this game. Glad to be a ps3 owner finally, damn how long have I had this damn thing?
I hope that means shared tunes will be a feature too cause you have to share tunes the old fashioned way in GT5. Also looking forward to some qualy sessions.
So review copies are in peoples hands and lot's of info coming out about the game which is looking good imo. But here is the opening to the game.

Monza
Matterhorn
Brands Hatch
Spa
Daytona (the inner loop 24Hour course is there right?)
Nurburgring ( w/ the true 24H course, combo of GP and Nordschleife)
Ascari
Willow Springs
Bathurst
... And there will be monthly track DLC? That's tucking awesome! I just hope that they continue to add mostly real world tracks. Imola, Watkins Glenn, Road America, CoTA, Interlagos and VIR would be cool.
So happy. Fingers crossed still.
Hopefully some reviews start coming out soon. When it comes down to it though, the main thing that I'm most excited about is multiplayer. It looks like PD has put in some very robust features into the host options, so here's to hoping there's ways to gift tunes, cars, and credits to help foster the community.
Also, that track list looks more and more epic as release day gets closer
This is the main reason Im getting it also. The multiplayer aspect is what I love about racing.
Parcells was under the impression that multiplayer is the only reason for racing, have I been missing something all these years? Some times I play with myself but if that involves a race game it would only be to prepare a car for an upcoming multiplayer race.
If GT6 provides the same multiplayer options that GT5 has we can run series almost as flexible as we do with FM4 and there's no reason to believe PD is not making further improvements for GT6 multiplayer. Right now the only options I find that would hamper a series effort with GT5 is you cannot share tunes/builds (but tunes/builds could still get shared via spreadsheets just not very convenient) and there are no hoppers to manage handicaps. However GT5 does provide more options to handicap people (weight ballasts or power reduction in 1% increments) it would just be more on the honor system. With the lack of buckets grid ordering is more restrained with GT5 so lets hope for more options here.
Well after recent high profile games removing multiplayer functionality in favor of pushing a learning ai, it's nice to hear that PD are (seemingly) respecting sim racers wishes.
I do play single player as well, and that is where forza has held the edge in my book, but at some point single player becomes a bore and a grind and... fuck yeah my pedals just got delivered!
Looking forward to the reviews.
