I wouldn't say they're random and pointless, but I do appreciate the kamikaze cat.

Campers delight with a more powerful AR and SAW. Was their damage really a problem?

It would not have been strong enough for the new sandbox settings. The SAW was meant to be a more powerful AR so it had to be buffed too. The AR appears to be deemed the iconic Master Chief weapon. For that and many other reasons, they had to be buffed. A segment of players are reviled by the automatics but they are part of the game and must be allowed to have their role. I find the AR particularly ineffective against the BR now, imagine if it wasn't buffed.

The battle rifle in Halo 2 was the worst thing to happen to the franchise.  Now to be "elite" you have to be a crouch walking, range camping pussy,  and playing old school with AR and melee is "noobish".   Play like a man and get in someone's face instead of quivering in your little hidey-hole sniper's perch hoping you are not discovered.  cheeky

I do so hope the Automatics are a sweet spot for me. I won't care what people call it.

I wasn't trying to be a smartass.  I was simply asking what it meant.  I've never heard the term before.

Understood.  Sometimes there is a lot of snark on these threads and it is easy to over-react.

I miss SMG's....let's bring them back....and dual wielding...and brute shots...

Any word if they are nerfing the bullet magnetism on the beam rifle?  It's a truly auto-aim weapon.

I want dual SMG's and Brute Shots. I really do.

Yes, there is word. on the Beam Rifle. I read in on Quinn's twitter feed. It will take another TU before it can happen, if either of those things were to happen.

And it's live.  Can't really make a judgement on it as both games I've played so far had over-seas host.  That's what happens when you play at 5am.

Played one game this morning. Slayer Pro .... Ugh, not my first choice. I used the detachable turret and was quite successful, even though it didnt get a buff. I must have been playing terrible players because I thought I would have been laid out on sight. So where do terrible players come from in this horribly unpopular Halo? Strange, the game is listed as DNF on Waypoint even though it worked without a hitch.

If I believed everything I read on Waypoint, THC, GBE or GAF I'd be very confused. One minute I'd believe the only people remaining were the hardcore competitive vets and the unreliable casuals have vacated and the next, I'd be reading how the Infinty playlists are full of casuals and that's who the game was made for. No wonder I get so upset reading forums.

Seems to be some kind of contradiction then. How can the casuals be both simultaneously gone and there? My stupid point being all the stupid comments in forums and my frustration with same. Nobody with experience is as bad as me. Anyway, mostly OT.

I confirmed only a couple of BR and AR non-ordnance spawns on SETTLER but none on SHATTERED. 343i is still using Initial (some repeating) and Random Ordnance. The Randoms I checked were only one weapon instead of a list. More checking to do.

I'm not sure 100% of any population is truly gone.  When most folks say that a population of players is gone, or that it's only X that inhabits the game now, I think that's a big of hyperbole.  I'm sure you pick up on that as well, though.

Random ordnance is terrible.  I'm happy that it is being eradicated.

Some say it as hyperbole and are arseholes and some say it and believe it and are stupid arseholes. I'm too stupid to not get frustrated.

Yeah but ... it isn't eradicated. Just changed up a bit, I think. I have to do more checking. It can add interesting elements to a map and the game if deployed reasonably. Distracting players towards heavy ordnance that is off the beaten path isn't such a bad thing.

BTW. I didn't see any serious resolution to your ammo supply on the two maps I looked at. Some people are singing the praises of new static weapon spawns but I think they are confusing it with repeating Initial Ordnance drops.

Going from few/random weapons showing up on the map to something that you can put a timer on is a massive improvement.
