Yes, Fishstick does look like an interesting alternative for the CoD players since the controls are almost exactly the same. I'll have to try that out just to see how it feels. However, I'm so used to Reach default that I'll probably just stick with the default layout.
If they had a Bumper Jumper button layout with reload on the X button I'd be tempted to use that instead. IMHO reload should always be X.
I'm thinking either Boxer or Bumper Jumper. I hope the next console has a couple more buttons on the controller. I don't understand why custom button mapping isn't allowed, can anyone explain that to me? Does it have to do with third party controllers?

i don't know remember if it was Bungie or 343 explaining that there is MASSIVE testing to be done for button glitches and in-game mechanics and physics to be done for every button layout they do.
i don't understand how a button configuration would have this type of effect, but i'm not a developer either.
I guess that makes sense. There was a controller glitch in Left 4 Dead 1 for the longest time where you could basically pack every bullet in your gun's clip into one shot, making it a ridiculously over powered blast by simply holding the trigger button and hitting two others at the same time. If there was a team of four players doing it with sniper rifles, they were unstoppable.
I think I'll be getting the new Halo 4 controller too, it looks pretty sweet, comes with an avatar item, and will come in handy as my left stick no longer clicks. I think that means I teabag sufficiently in game.

I am VERY happy about bumper jumper. They actually took my advice on the buttons! WOOT!!!!
One more concern tossed out the window. Only change for Bumper Jumper is grenade switch to D-Pad, (A) now houses Sprint instead.

I panicked before I saw the Recon configuration-- whew. :) I could never get into any other configs.
Ditto. I started to get worried that melee would not be on the B button. Adjusting my grip from the claw would have been way too much effort for me.

I usually use default, but I don't want to crouch with B.
That's mean. I am not that bad of a guy.
As for layouts, I will be sticking with Recon. It seems to work well for me.
