Halo 4 Composer Speculation (Neil Davidge and Matt Dunkley, confirmed)

As far as I know, the sound track composer for Halo 4 is still secret. Monday March 5 appears to be the street date for the news embargo lifts on a bunch of new Halo 4 news. Have fun speculating before the facts are known. I started a topic on this over at HBO too.

The sound track for this video is confirmed to be that of Halo 4.

Yesterday I thought I recognized elements of the Halo 4 soundtrack that was part of the "Working at 343 Industries" Ad/vi-doc. http://carnage.bungie.org/haloforum/halo.forum.pl?read=1128866

Strong hints of the Lord of the Rings soundtrack by Howard Shore. Somehow I doubt this would be the guy 343i would select due to his age, length of the Halo 4-6 trilogy and probably his availability. Doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would tie himself up with a game for 6 years or more.

I definitely hear some hints of Thomas Bergersen (Two Steps from Hell) in there too. Nick Phoenix is also part of Two Steps from Hell team and may well be the composer or part of the the Halo 4 composing team but I am leaning towards Thomas. Anecdotal (and completely wild) evidence are Thomas' website being mostly down since I last visited and the Two Steps from Hell website seems to have less info in it than the last time I visited there. Both composers are fairly young too.

Sotaro Tojima is the audio director of Halo 4 and apparently not confirmed as the composer, yet.

More evidence to support my leaning towards Two Steps from Hell's composers.

Thomas Bergersen's website is even more dismantled and twostepsfromhell.com is now giving a certification error.

Hmmm, if you click the wordpress folder on the thomasbergersen.com website you will now find the Two Steps From Hell website. Wierd. Does this mean Nick Phoenix is the Halo 4 composer?

Two Steps From Hell website is back. Weird, what would cause a site to go away for several days and then reappear?

Thomas Bergersen's personal website still just shows Two Steps From Hell. This is unlike it was a couple of months ago when it showed his personal recordings.

My original and still standing speculation is one or both members of TwoStepsfromHell.

Unfortunately for my choice, Frankie has since alluded to the composer as a "she" and even threw Lisa Gerard's name out there. XBox live said "award-winning producer".

Lisa Gerard does run a company that employs unsigned talent. I don't think it would be that or her. Her sounds/themes (I'm listening to her right now) don't remind me of Halo even thoug I've often thought "Now We Are Free" would be good for a montage.

Frankie
"But our princess is in another castle. That narrows it down. Again, composer isn't going to be a surprise per se, but you'll hear more about that (fairly) soon, with a very cool video to accompany it."

This is you last chance to to make your guess and WIN absolutely nothing.

Other than it being two men, I missed by a mile.

Neil Davidge and Matt Dunkley.

I like Marty, but the new stuff sounds great coupled with the ingame effects we have heard. Sound is so important, and I'm hoping it will live up to the iconic soundtracks from previous Halos.

Sounds good so far. The Steve Vai into to Halo2 will always hold a special place in my heart though.
