GT6 Credit Glitch

I'm pretty sure PD will plug this instantly if it's true, considering they're selling credits in the store!! 

I'm happy just to race for my money! 

One of my main draws to GT is I enjoy having to race to earn licences and money.  That drive to unlock the next level keeps me involved.  If everything was open instantly, I'd probably play for a few hours, then only pick it up every now and again.  But that's also why I usually enter the races in an under-speced car at first...so I've got to work at it at least a little bit.

So I personally won't be taking advantage of it.  Hell, in GT4 I had 3 different game saves going because I wanted to try to advance from the start w/ a different car.    Besides, I'm already up to nearly $60k, and I still have 2 more series to run in Nat B.....and I've got the cars I need to finish it out.  '76 GTi & '90 RX7 TII (both cars I used to own, though the rabbit was just a base '82 w/ a '91 GTi motor & 16v trans).

I don't mind racing for credits, I've *still* never played any of the GT series online, and like Sherb I need a challenge so I do go for a drop in PP to make the racing fun and challenging.

I was dissapointed they still haven't made different difficulty levels in GT6 but I'm loving it just the same and the under powered cars thing has been as issue since the original GT so it's not a deal breaker.

I can understrand the guys who don't want to grind as they will just race online, but I enjoy both sides of the game!!

I wont be taking free credits. I'm going the same route as Chris (sherb). I have about 1/2 million credit so far. built a few cars up and bought around 5 cars so far. Just enjoying the ride so far. Greg.

EDIT: well, I grabbed the 20 million CR. Guys, I promise to finish the career portion. Honest. I really don't find it to be such a grind. Besides, it's really helpful in getting used to the physics.

Well if anyone is going to get in to trouble it's me. Got 20 in the bank and about 50 spare on resale value with the gto and about 200 cars. I feel cheap......

Was literally 10 minutes from logging on and reaping the rewards (OH did I have some nice cars in mind kind of sad now)  but back to plan B for now.

But part of me really wants to do it because I just cant see people getting banned over this. Losing what you cheated for perhaps but it doesn't make sense for PD to ban their most dedicated fan base and there would be a lot of us/them...IGN for god sakes has/had a how-to video they cant ban that many players can they?

Anyway, I got the loot and bought some nice cars. Corvette Z06 race car, BMW Z4 GT3, Audi R8 GT3 (Team Pheonix Racing), Caterham Seven Fireblade, '71 Corvette ZR1, Mazda Miata MX-5 Touring car (hoping to do a series with this one) and I still have 18 million left. YES!!!

What other cars should I get, guys? I've got my eye on a nice Ferrari but its big bucks. I'll hold off for now. 

I think i'll wait until finishing the career before doing something like this - by then the GameGenie codes for max money should have been made, which will make the process much easier and quicker. After finishing the career mode the game becomes a driving sandbox, so I see no reason to not get access to as much as possible. I sure as hell am not going to grind over and over or give Sony real money for pretend money.

Yeah, there was an update when I logged on last night.  All I have left now on my Nat B is the Compact Car Championship.  Should have that done tonight I'm thinking.....unless I get too wrapped up in Guild Wars 2.

Nice!!!!  I completed all the National A events last night.  I really like the ability to reduce power output to lower the PP.  Came in handy on the Electric Circuits.  Cutting the power in half and adding a small bit of weight on the tesla allowed me to race that event without having to buy a car I will never use again

I don't normally glits but after going all the way through to int A and having barley 1 mil and constatnly using the award cars (none that compelling anyway)... I caved... And I'm glad I did.

No more worry for buyers remose (RUF, you handled so nicly in GT 5... Now your a bit more of a handfull)

In fact I recomend that everyone do it, but only once to open up the early part of the game and explore cars from the dealership. You'll realized that 20 mil isn't much at all in the grand sceme of GT 6... 

Hell, even IGN made a video on how to do it... so it's pretty wide spread... Some even claim it can't be patched due to being able to go back to the 1.0 version... but who really knows.

The way to patch it is just make the Merc cost 20,000,000

That way you are not gaining anything. Something tells me this may be intentional

Not quite that easy as its embeded in the 1.0 code... and you can freely delete updates... And once you sell it in 1.0 the funds carry over to 1.1... So the most likely option would be the save file being modified as it's the only data universally compatable with all versions (so far)... And thats not easy to fix as it would overwrite saves and thats just dangerous to do systemicly...

But you can only buy the Merc when you install the 1.01 update. So make the merc 20m and its no go.

When you remove the 1.01 update you cannot buy the Merc it removes the GT Vision thing. Yes it wont stop the people who have already done the hack but any one trying in the future wont be able to
