The Good old days

With ridiculous ping for BF4 last night ( I assume from all the new China Rising traffic ), I went looking for an alternative.

I re-installed Bad Company 2.

It still looks great.

I found a Rush server and jumped in, and holy flip !!! The were players dropping supplies, stopping to pick me up with vehicles, and here's the really weird part....actually playing the objective - except one guy who came back to our spawn to farm kills and received a knifing for his efforts 18.

I'm going to play for a few days and see how the servers populate. If they're consistent, would anybody be interested in teaming up on a working Battlefield game ?

Funny I actually looked up my BFBC2 stats earlier today. Much nostalgia for a well made game that wasnt overly complicated by bells and whistles that comprimise basic functionality.

I went back for a few games some months ago and the choppers put me off.

Come back to the light and have a cup of kool-aid stratchski. There are few enough BF4 PC players as it is.

No can do, I may be too far off the reservation ! he he he.

Everybody needs to have a game that works, to de-stress from the BF4 clusterf*ck.

Most of the hackers and ass-hats have moved on long ago from BC2, so it seems* a good environment to play in for a team.

*further research neccessary.

I have also discovered what the hell is wrong with the last three installments of the Battlefield series.

The crosshairs.

The last satisfactory, fullfilling Battlefield game, for me, was BC 1 - which it so happens was the last game to use the dot -in - circle crosshairs.

Obviously the change to conventional " + ", crosshairs has thrown the programmers / coders at DICE completely out of whack, thus unable to deliver a great game.

This is undeniable, scientific fact.

BC2 was the shit. Those maps were killer. Best multiplayer maps. Port of Valdez, Arica Desert, Oasis, Valparaiso... etc.. Every map was incredibly good.

The attack chopper in Oasis and Port Valdez was a pain in the ass. If half of the team didn't set it sights on bringing that chopper down it would tear you a new one.

The ping for BF has been erratic to say the least. Most nights I'm at 60 and other nights it jumps to 200 for some reason. Most people indicate it must be my ISP but I check my speeds and ping and they remain the same as every night.
