Great coverage Hawks!

I swear to christ that Fantomas is an alien.  I saw him working his way through traffic on the map and I thought I *might* be able to hold him off but nope... like a freight train that guy.  And even after a drive through too!

Close points battle for this season and am looking forward to Pukey!

Cheers!

I have no idea how he's doing it... it's like he's got 10% more grip than me.  Every corner is so smooth.

Its a Blast!!  You don't need the latest and greatest system to play rFactor so come join the fun.  Plenty of guys going back and forth between Forza and rFactor so you can get your fun on anyway you like.

Cheers!

Just what we need, another alien.  Look out Hawks.

TrackAssassin, you will really like this game.  A lot more realistic than Forza ever dreamed.  The only thing you will miss is the graphics.  But the physics and driving model are great.  You can use a controller if you want also.  There are some other guys who use controllers, you need to have the wired one though.  Like KRG Dark said, you don't need a new computer for this, it is an old game which came out in 2007.  I have a 5 year old computer and it works great with everything turned on.

imo I actually find the graphics in rFactor far more enjoyable than Forza 4 surprise

The reason is that I use cockpit view and Forza 4 in online multiplayer has (again imo) about the crappiest look of all the various racing games I play. rFactor is displaying at a very high resolution on my 3 screens whereas Forza 4 looks to be "significantly" under 720p. Add in the lack of AA in Forza 4 versus the clarity/sharpness of the rFactor display and the contest of bling over content is really no contest.

+1

When i max the settings for replays, especially in VHR mod for Spazcar, it's looks pretty decent for 7 year old tech vs the console game... It's not enough of a difference to go..." man shame it has crappy grapihics" or anything like that...I also prefer the graphic of rfactor for incar as well as i also use that view in both games.

Alright mate, I'll get it sorted and we'll get together. How did you find it differed from Forza physics? harder to control?

Once I got some good setting for the pad and a good tune it was ok. Seems a lot faster on r factor.

I love all the little bits eg- Lights, Wipers, Horn, Starting your car up from been cold, Rain, + loads more.

Don't forget night racing, real fuel use, tire wear, pit strategy, and more tracks than you shake a stick at!

Cheers!

Hmm not over impressed with the graphics, even for seven years old. reflections on bonnet look like lego...have everything maxed. Remember now why I left pc gaming, hours of pissing about on the interweb looking for hints on how to make things work as you think they should. Still I'll keep messing and see how I get on. Any mods that you may recommend? Church I am on now how do we link?

Right after spending a couple of hours dicking around with graphics card settings I now have it as good as it can be. Better than the default by quite a margin, if you had seen what I started with you would have understood my comment. Like driving in lego land. So now to get to grips with it...and work a way of bodging a monitor to my rig, can't be doing with the controller.

lol cool when I first started with rFactor I ran quite a few of my first V8 Supercar races with GBR using the default display settings blush was still huge amount of fun though...

I didn't realize for 'quite a while' that I could up the display quality enlightened

Made a huge difference when I finally realized this and maxed out all the settings smiley

LOL yeah, I used too be a pc only kind of guy so first thing I did was get the thing running as well as possible, at least being an old game I can max it out. I may be shallow, but I do love my eye candy.
