Hi all, I haven't played Destiny really in a couple of months. I think my toon is around 28 and I'm in major need of some gear. What would be the best way to get gear outside of PVP?

All your Legendary/Exotic gear is upgradeable. After that, play and collect.
PvP is the worst place to get gear. Do strikes and raids to get gear. Nightfall is another good place to get gear. Unless you want to grind it out for the Vanguard/Crucible, but good luck with that.
I find the best way of catching up is playing with others. So i jumped into HOW last night a little inebriated and for the life of me I was totally lost. I'll try again tonight.
I got on last night and was light level 28, ended the night at almost light level 31. Played some pug strike missions and actually found a nice pair of boots and a helmet. Really really need to get a new weapon as my most powerful one is a revolver.
Hopefully I can catch up with a few of you tonight, would like to try Nightfall
