Just got one of those Fanatec emails - my wheel is the Porsche GT2 but I did get the ClubSport V1 pedals as well but that was a good 3 or so years ago.  Looks like they are expanding the reach of their promotion - maybe the uptake for the Wheel Base V2  has been slower than anticipated as folks wait to to see how the Rim/Console support combinations will unfold over time.

I'm looking to buy a v2 (along with a new shifter etc) if there is a spare invite knocking around that is going to waste, I'd sincerely appreciate 1 if anyone wouldn't mind?

I'm grabbing a wheel, base, seat, shifter, handbrake so I'm hoping to save a few pennies if I can :)

I'm hoping they announce the PS4 and XB1 rims soon, so I can purchase my new console.

The only thing currently holding me back is no fanatec compatibility yet, however, if there is a chance to order via an invite ill place my order now for sure, simply for the saving :)

I don't understand.  I bought Clubsport pedals in May 2010, CSR Elite wheel in Nov 2011 on the first day it was available for pre-order, and a Clubsport wheel with GT and Formula rims in May 2013.  I still don't have an invite email yet.  I'm thinking they probably black-listed me after the rim flex video I posted for the CSR Elite when it first came out.

Similar deal here.  Bought Clubsport pedals in December 2010, CSR Elite in November 2011 and CSW in April 2013.  No invite here either.

Oh well, I was not planning to use it anyway.

It seems fanatic are taking a bizarre approach to this release.

New customers can't currently order the product and will categorically pay more when it's available to them?

Existing customers who had a bad experience with fanatec previously are being shunned, which only adds salt and a sour taste to an already sensitive situation (surly fixing these customers bad/negative experience should be a priority as this will improve overall customer relations and customer feedback on forums etc)

And those who are the most unlikely to buy it (people who already have thousands of pounds worth of kit) are getting invites only they can personally use, but likely won't? Who's in charge of this marketing idea :D

I have 1900euro here for fanatec but for some reason... I can't give it to them :D and when it does get released to new customers, I won't buy it, because I'll not have enough to buy the package I want due to a price increase?

I need to meet this marketing guy, he's a real money making genius :D

I was really debating ordering this as I just got an invite.  I then thought about it some more and I think I'll go with the Thrustmaster for the x1.   I want to use an F1 wheel on the xbox and the fanatec sounds like you will be stuck with a certain wheel to play in the consoles so it kind of limits the wheel options.

I'm so jealous right now :)

Do those who get an email and place an order all get an additional code or are they "random" bonus from fanatec? Also do we know if the new wheel has support/ rims for the consoles will devs still be required to add support for the wheel to the game, or will the wheel work with all ganes by default as it's an official wheel?

From what I understand, each rim adds support for a different platform? So buy base, then a rim.

Happy to be corrected.

CAUTION Xbone rim NOT confirmed yet.

No idea about game dev support. Assume it will for optimisation, but will also work generically in a default mode?

It's not a bad business model I suppose, cross platform will be great, but it means we're likely to have either multiple wheels of the same style, or worse, 1 wheel only for each console meaning no F1 or touring wheel etc?

I'm curious to see how it pans out, but excited never the less. There is a post on the Facebook showing an A button from a controller, so not sure what that means, but I'll assume it's Xbox support :D I just need to convince someone to drop me a spare invite so I can order this bad boy and rack up some miles :)

For me, I'd like to see this all sorted from fanatec by Xmas as I'd love to race XB1 horizon 2 over Xmas in a sim rig AND then play drive club and PCars on a PS4 on Boxing Day :D that would be spectacular!

Just saw this post from Fanatec on Facebook re: Xbox One compatible Fanatec wheels and accessories:

Fanatec products on Xbox One

Landshut, Germany – 3.10.2014 – This is the announcement many people have been waiting for and we are happy to announce that Endor AG (the company behind the brand Fanatec) and Microsoft Corp. have closed a license agreement to make racing peripherals for the Xbox One.
Fanatec plans to release a broad line up of racing wheels which will fit all kind of racing styles and different budgets.
Xbox One brings the latest in innovation and power to the development of racing peripherals giving fans of Fanatec products the opportunity to play the newest Xbox One titles with full support and integration.
Available soon, fans will be able to enable Xbox One compatibility on their current Fanatec wheels by simply attaching them to a Fanatec wheel base, making their whole system compatible to Xbox One. Additional details and features will be announced soon.
Additional Fanatec peripherals like pedals, shifters or handbrakes that were purchased with an Xbox 360 will also be compatible with Xbox One. The modular configuration system in the Fanatec webshop allows you to purchase only the components you need.

Thomas Jackermeier, CEO of Endor/Fanatec: “I am very excited to announce this partnership as we have been working with Microsoft behind the scenes on new and exciting products. Xbox One and “Forza Motorsport” will continue to be a landmark of ultra-realistic racing simulations on any gaming console and we look forward to bringing this realism to a whole new level for our fans.”

I personally don't care.  The TX is a great wheel and because it was released last year, I have been enjoying Forza 5 for 10 months, and Forza Horizon 2 this week.  This weekend I am moving my set up into my remodeled garage, which means I will have a better, more immersive set up for Forza, to go alongside my triple screen set up for PC and PS3 sim racing.

The press release is misleading when they refer to "current" wheels.  If I understand the press release correctly, you need a (yet to be released) club sport v2 wheel base to attach the (yet to be released) xbone compatible wheel.  The base is discounted to $499. (US) for those of use that were prior Fanatec owners and the wheel price hasn't been set yet, but let's assume at least $150, so you're still talking $650. + for the new wheel.

I still think theThrustmaster $395. wheel and Basher adapter $45. is a better deal that still saves  the investment in the CS pedals.

Trying to figure out Fanatec. Got my "OFFICIAL" Invitation today. Here's the Kicker...Expiration Date 10/11/2014. They stated that they have come to agreement with Microsoft for Future Wheels but no date is given. Dilemma...What if you order the V2 for use with Forza but who knows when the Wheel will be offered. You could be sitting on the Wheel for some time. Not remembering the Warranty Time.surprise

P.(arcell)S. Just Read that the Warranty is 12 months after shipment date.

So a new wheel and new base is required for X1 support. It was worded a little funky originally by fanatec, as they said "current wheels" could have compatibility. I see they have edited it for clarity now :D

Well this is still great news, so now we await the ps4 announcement, 1 wheel covering all bases! This will well like a bastard :D

Im looking forward to trying fanatec v2 PCars to see how it handles. As soon as this puppy is available to order, it's coming my way. As I'm buying an entire rig, wheel, pedals, shifter, base, hand break and seat I'll post a vid or pics when it's done! Xmas is gonna be fun this year :D
