What assists are you currently running? Maybe instead of trying to turn them all off at once you should pick one, turn it off and adapt your driving style before turning another one off.  Whoever helps you out in the driving school should be able to help you prioritize.

IMO the only assist you should turn off is Stability Control.  I believe it's the only one that actually hinders the car's performance.  The rest are purely driver preference and no one here is going to think any less of you for using them.

Is this how your assists are set up?

Stability Control (SC) - On
Anti-lock Braking System(ABS) - Off
Traction Control (TCS) - Off
Shifting - Auto
Steering - ?
Suggested Line - ?

TCS - On

Shifting - Manual/Clutch

Line - Braking

A chill pill might serve you proper as well Viper.

You can't expect to keep up right away and you better believe that being fast is a mental game. Once you get into your head in a way that effects you negatively it is hard to recover. And from that point it's just melt down city (never gets better).

Take each race nice and easy for a while. Pay attention to what the faster drivers are doing. Watch replays of faster drivers. Bring up telemetry and watch the drivers inputs. And most importantly. Seat time. If you want to be a good driver you need to invest time...

Most important...Drive at a pace that is comfortable, even if it's 30 mph. Concentrate being smooth & consistent. If you'll concentrate on that, then the speed will come naturally with time & practice. Keep the faith bro. I've watched some of the worst drivers become our fastest. It can be done.

That competitive nature should make you want to practice that much more to better your skills. The more you practice the more competitive you become.

You'll be up to speed sooner than you think at that rate.
