Data Transfer on new Halo 4 Console

I just have a question. I just recently bought a new Halo 4 console to replace my old 2008 model. I bought a HD Transfer kit a while back so i started the process of moving all my data from my old HD to the new console. Everything went great except one thing. All my game saves from Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST didn't transfer they got erased. What's weird is I still have all my screenshots and clips from both games but no save data. Has anyone else had similar problems?

Did you back them up to your cloud drive?

Nope. I've never used the cloud feature. I rarely game anywhere else besides my house.

I also got a LE H4 360 and transfered everything - no problems though.  The only things that didn't transfer were a few installed games which did not get deleted from the old HDD.

Well, I finally dug out my copy of Halo 3 to check out my saves and apperantly my saves did transfer. It just wasn't noted in the Halo 3 files. That's a relief. I thought I lost all my Recon and everything. I guess I just paniced when I didn't see it like Reach or Halo CE saves games. Back to Halo 4. :-)
