You have brief descriptions that really do not say to much. But I am guessing the shutout map is a Lockout remake (big papa salot tweeted a couple of days ago for a new name for his Lockout remake) and Simplex (also made by him) is in the vein of Halo 3's Onslaught (I believe).

It will be nice to try 6 new maps.

Those two you mentioned have been around for awhile in earlier forms. I'm not really familiar with gaming on Onslaught but I've seen pictures. The Lockout remake is probably an upgrade from the we've been playing on lately. It is a lot like Lockout and it's fun but somethings don't match my memory of it. Of course it could've been improved in Shutout.

The rest of them we'll just have to go into the playlist and see. If you go the the authors fileshare, you won't necessarily get the one in MM.

Simplex is a very good map.  Some people will think it's too open and simple, but I like it.  It's not as good as Onslaught though.  Will definitely look forward to playing it.

So is the complaining. LOL

Some maps were explicity made for MLG and include weapon spawns and I think some don't have Map Ordnance drops. Did people really think 343 would implement anything other than Infinity gametypes? I am not surprised 343i didn't go in and fix these before implementation. Bungie never did either. It's basically, if the map starts for the gametype then install in playlist. Sad but true.

Poor FyreWulff was credited for RELAY and all he did was check trait barriers and exploits. Now he has to wear the criticism for making the map. Holy crap.

Expect serious map faults to be repaired for the next appearance outside of the Forge Test playlist.

Its Forge test maps. You have to play these with a grain of salt and then have a constructive opinion. People say Reach or Halo4 has kill the franchise, but honestly its the community thats killing it.  There's nothing wrong with pointing out problems, but have a point don't just bitch to bitch.

I've played all the maps at least a couple times and so far I really like them. It's what alot of us have been waiting for, small maps where the BR can shine.

Relay-This map should already be in MM. Its been played and tested countless times. Put it in.

Despair-I like the layout, but this map is ugly. Muddy looking forge pieces on a dark map just does not work.

Simplex- This one is my favorite. I instantly felt comfortable on this map. With it Midship, Onslaught type layout whats not to love.

Shutout-Its Lockout. Looks good and plays better than Blackout. Even though I like the map I'm not sure I would want this in matchmaking because everyone will pick it much like they do with Ragnarock. Plus I'm not much on remakes there almost never as good in forge as the originals.

Garrotte-Very small and tight. Not sure if I will like this map. I only played Flag on and got destroyed on it.

Scythe-This map has a different layout. 2 levels, 4 big rooms(green, yellow, red, blue) all closing connected. I found myself in my first game on it falling to the first level alot because of the narrow pathways and bridges. Its ok, but I don't see it making the cut.

Right now I see Relay and Simplex making the cut. The others for me are wait and see even though they are all better than any of the small maps H4 has right now with the exception of Haven.

CTF on Garrotte is my favorite of the bunch so far. Classic Flag is the shit.

Infinity Slayer ruins Lockout.

Scythe seems more of a 2v2 map.

I liked Simplex before, but Infinity Slayer will probably ruin it for me.

I'm with you on Despair.  Fun layout, poor aesthetics.

Relay just stinks.  They should have added Dispatch instead.

Infinity Slayer does cause some real problems on these small maps. One game on Despair the other team had rockets, the cannon thing, beam rifle and sniper all at once. They may need to adjust the drops to they can work on these maps.

so far I am liking them all. The swat game types are meh on them. But the other stuff is playing pretty good so far.

I think the spawns on despair need to be adjusted.

I played on 5 of the maps yesterday and enjoyed them all for the most part. I only felt lost in 2 of them, the others were small and simple enough to where you could feel comfortable knowing where you were seconds after your respawn. I agree that the drops make some of the maps a little more frustrating at times. I thought the lockout remake played pretty well despite the jetpack allowing people to get away from some spots rather quickly. The auto Turret is pretty handy on these small maps, it can give you a good idea where people are coming from, annoy the other team, and provide a nice distraction so that you can get off that first shot.

I think these smaller maps are exactly what a lot of H4 players are looking for.

SWAT on lockout was awesome. I could see the jetpack causing havok on it though. played a few of the others. only one I didn't really like, but I can't remember the name now. it started with an "S".

Yea, I thoroughly enjoyed the new maps last night.  The games I played in I did not feel the ordinance drops made a huge difference.  Not saying they do not, but only that they did not seem to have a big effect last night.

Not liking these maps too much, except the Lockout remake is good. Other than that I thought Despair had the best layout, but there are too many power weapons on that map. Spawning problems - several times I had enemies spawn near me or in my line of sight. You can tell these were made by amateurs.

It would be cool to see some more good symmetrical maps like Onslaught or the Pit.

Despair KotH is totally broken.  Don't vote for it. The map I don't care for much either.

All the other maps we had alot of fun playing last night.

This! - Despair was super-laggy and pretty darn ugly. - might have been better on Ravine or Impact?

Garrotte is terrible.  The top part might make for a decent map, but the bottom part, especially if you're spawning down there, is painful.

that's the one that drove me bat shit crazy. after the initial spawn, we spent most of the game spawning down low even though we had control of at least a decent portion of the top.

Why does everyone hate Relay so much? I've only played it 4 or 5 times and it seemed ok.

On Despair I also noticed if you use jetpacks to high or the lift an go to high you will land and be stuck for a couple seconds.
