Buttkicker - anyone using one of these?

Anyone here with a rig, homemade or otherwise, using the Butkicker Gamer 2? What are your impressions?

It's been a standard on my rigs for awhile now. Really enjoy it and getting that extra feedback from down under!

Brnt, does it communicate what's going on with the car or is it a gimmick? I've seen reviews by some that say it really helps them drive.

Also, how noisy is it? I mean, does it make everything rattle and cause a ruckus?

Depends on the developer on how much feedback they want to incorporate into the game is how much feedback the kicker gives. The rumble strips, gravel, burnouts even with some of the high horsepowered cars like the nascar cars give back alot of feedback you "feel". Just sitting in a nascar car on idle kinda rocks the seat with the lope of the engine. Yea be careful tho, cuz when no one else is home I turn it up and get the whole house a rocking lol. That doesn't play well with others trying to do there thing or listen to the tv etc tho. Just another tool for an immersive experience.

Okay, thanks. Looks like I'm gonna have to get a proper rig first.

ive had one for a few yrs dating back to fm4 and i could never race again without again......people talk about certain gimicks that add immersion too me this is the single most immersiver add on ive bought.  For consoles it will mostly just feedback from the roads bumps strips and contact with other cars, for pc you can run up to 5 buttkickers using simvibe 4 represent each tire the 5 to place under your seat to give you an rl feel.  the tires will represent brake feedback, grip, flat spotting so you know which tire is the issue, as well as wearing will give you a vibration.

A single buttkicker can mopunt to any chair as well i gave make shift rig and its mounted under the chair.....next step is to upgrade to 4 more and run simvibe :)

I have 3 Buttkicker on my rig 1- under the pedal area ,1- under the wheel and one under the seat. Makes a world of difference in immersion ! Now once you get it the trick with using it is you have to mute all of the background music to any of the games you use it with . This way you only feel what the car is doing.

I just hooked up the buttkicker sim kit. Its basically the same amp as the gamer2 but you have to mount the bass shaker to the rig or in my case I mounted to the bottom side of my seat. I bolted it down to the metal crossbar in the back of my seat. I have spent the last day or so dialing it in. I,ve tested it on every pc sim and the results were different for all of them. AC was the best feeling of them all. GT6 feels great. I can feel the gears shift and when another car goes bye I can feel a slight rumble. Its nice because it lets me know when another car is passing me. The rumble strips have a good jolt when going over them<And when you get airborne you can feel the bump when you hit the track. You can find these online anywhere from 159.00 to 199.00 . well worth it as far as putting the emersion level up in sim racing.

I have looked into the Buttkicker in the past but the problem is that I use separate headsets for sound on my PC, PS3 and Xbox One.  I cannot use my speaker system most of the time, due to noise issues in my small house.  The PC and Xbox One headsets connect via optical, the PS3 headset connects via a dongle.  I have not been able to figure out how to make a Buttkicker work with my set up.

If you have a/v reciever  run all of your consoles and pc into the reciever with HDMI or rca and then run the rca cable from the in rca connection of the Buttkicker amp into the front head phone jack of the reciever with a rca to headphone jack adapter. This way your gaming headphones will run directly from your consoles and PC and the Buttkicker will receive the sounds from the receiver headphone signal. This is how I have my setup and it works will . If I want the game sounds thru the  home theater speakers to play I then simply disconnect the rca to headphone jack adapter from the rca coming from the Buttkicker and plug it into one of the sub out in the back of the receiver. Hope this helps if you have a receiver.

@ craig. On the ps3 i run multi out option on. i have to use my turtle beach head set because the sony pulse overrides the multi outs. bummer because i just bought them a month ago. As far as the pc .I use my speaker out to my sound bar. and I some how have used some Y connects to run the turtle beach head set too. So now I can have all three working at the same time on both units. The only bad thing is the mic on the TB headsets dont work. But I have figured a way around that problem.I tape a blue tooth to my mic wand and in setting i have them set for output only. And for the pc. I use a small mic that clips onto my shirt and plug it into the front of my pc. Looks like I migth be buying a new set of headset soon.

@oldrustybelly how did you connect the buttkicker to the soundbar?

If I can connect the soundbar to the tv and PC iam thinking of replacing my Logitech speakers with a good soundbar

@ kurupt.   I have a sony soundbar.Everything hooks up to the subwoofer. And I cant hook the buttkicker to it because it needs an audio out. Mine does't have one. The only out is the bar itself. I run my buttkicker from my pc with the speaker out (the green output on the back of the pc. I start with a  rca y adaptor from my pc . I plug one end to the BK and the other to another rca y adaptor that then plugs into the two rca inputs on the subwoofer. I use the second y adaptor so I can have both audio channel working. My turtle beach has a pigtail rca that i plug inline with the pc's rca. The  rca inputs are for hooking a tv into it for sound.  Hope that helps. I believe its anolog. But It sounds full.
