BR help....

Heyo,

I'm wondering if someone could give me some suggestions on how to use the BR effectively.   I recently completed my DMR commendation and wanted to try to work on the BR one next but frankly I'm having a helluva time with the BR.

I seem to take a ridiculous amount of time/shots to kill someone with it.  I've emptied entire magazines into the body of an enemy and had them kill me as I was reloading.  I hit a guy with an overcharged plasma pistol, popped his shield and it still took 4 pulls of the trigger at relatively short range to the body to kill him.   It would have been faster to just finish him with the plasma pistol.

Meanwhile I can 5 shot someone at medium range with a DMR without even zooming in to aim at their head.   Am I just that bad with the BR or is it ridiculously underpowered? (I mean emptying a magazine in a guys body should kill someone right???)

So please if there are some tips or tricks you all have let me hear them.   Alternately, should I just work on the light rifle or the covey carbine instead?

All it takes is practice. Someone who uses the dmr mostly can't expect the same results with the br. My advice is to shoot the torso 4 times, or until their shields pop, then headshot them. I had trouble as well with the br, but now I can br with the best of them. All it takes is practice. One of my friends help me train with it. I would be glad to help if you want.

I say use BR for medium or small maps and LR for large maps.  The BR works best when you hipfire and strafe, try aiming for the top of their chest and not exactly at their head.

Don't use the carbine unless you're a glutton for punishment, that gun is so ridiculously weak, especially when facing a DMR user.

Play to the weapon's strengths; don't use it like a sniper rifle or a DMR unless your opponent is being stupid and using the AR/Suppressor/Storm Rifle.  Also, listen to Valek and practice with it.

Once shields pop, shot for the head. That makes it a 5sk. If you are purposely trying to kill them will all body shots, it will be closer to 7 or 8 depending on conneciton to host.

I suggest moving from the DMR to the LightRifle. The LightRifle is comparable in range to the DMR but it does more damage, and its kill time is slightly faster than the DMR. I strongly suggest using the Stability modifier, as its flinch is quite high. The weapon does have a steep learning curve, though, but once you overcome that it'll likely become your favorite weapon.

No, I know your LightRifle is defective. Did you buy the extended warranty with it? If not, its still within six months, so the manufacturer warranty should still be good. Cheap ass LightRifles nowadays...

Range is probably your issue more than anything else.  If you developed your chops witha DMR and moved to BR you are most likely engaging outside it's effective range.  The DMR will spoil you that way.
