360 is fixed!!!
I'm back in action! The new DVD drive came in two days early and I got it all hooked up and it works like a champ! Not too difficult to do, the worst part was having to swap the board from the old drive to the new one so my xbox could recognize it. Just required a bit of soldering, but it not too bad to save some money to apply toward a PS3 and GT6!
Big shout out to Cooter for all the help and information! Thanks bud!
See you fellas on the track!
Nice. Youve been missed!
Naw, he's been lurking, hehe. Good to have you back 100%, where's your clubs?
No problem. It was nice to see you back racing last night. I could hear the relief in your voice last night. I know that shit gets frustrating.
I look forward to hopping in a car with him and killing some innocent pedestrians. Haven't played GTA with any friends yet. Anyone down?
Good! Can you send me a copy of that paint in your signature, maybe the tune too?
I 2nd wanting that car with both tunes please.
Glad you got it sorted dude!
Top work!
good stuff. i will be playing some 360 this week.
haha wish i saw this before posting in the previos thread bout it being broken...still not getting why anything needed soldered as its all on ribbon connectors unless us xboxes are different?? Welcome back anyhow lol
Thanks General. Yes, technically you can just unplug the old drive and plug in the new one but then my xbox wouldn't recognize it. I would then have to hook the drive up to a PC to flash it or something to match it to my old xbox. If I took that route I would apparently run the risk of having Microsoft flag my xbox as being "hacked" and they would shut my account down. So to avoid that I had to switch the little boards in the drive, which do have the ribbon quick connections, but it also has six other wires soldered to the board. I haven't soldered tiny shit like that in a long time but I guess I still have a steady hand
Paints and tunes sent by the way. Practice caution, my tunes are getting a reputation of being "difficult".
