2old2play Chicago LAN 2012 Halo 4 Championship Round (Best of 5)

During the 2old2play Chicago LAN last week, Midnighter ran a small 32 player tournament. We started out with a FFA and ranked all the players. From that list we made up teams. We had 8 teams of 4 and started a double elimination tornament. Team 1 (Hitman, Speedbump, Bubba, Medic) went undefeated going into the FInals. Team 2 (Dixon, Drost, Seraphis, Laud) had to fight all the way out of the losers bracket to play in the FInals. The finals was a Best of 5 series that went to the bitter end. Game 2 went into Double overtime, probably one of the most epic CTF games of all time. Check out the videos to see the LAN mayhem!

It was during the game on Settler, if that helps.

alright, is that out of everyone's system?  wink

I vote next lan we are more casual and people just play (ala 2008), jumping in games randomly.  The brackets and tourneys set up meant a lot of standing around doing nothing in between the "set times" to play, and we lost a lot of gaming without people to play against.  I had to play campaign and spartan ops a lot of the time because people who weren't in a tourney game at the time were just shooting the shit instead of shooting heads.  48

Where's the fun in that?  I mean, folks could play and do whatever in the interim.

Because it's just fun to play..... not to worry about who "wins."  Just look at stats after if you want bragging rights for K/D.  It was for something in the past (FFA for $$$) but otherwise, no one plays when they're not playing their tourney games, for the most part.  That's a waste of a very short time we had....  Seemed like every time a tourney game ended or was about to start in 30 minutes or what have you, I'd check the roster and people were logged in but idle, or just standing around AFK.  Kept those of us who were out of the initial tourney from playing much.

I used my free time to masturbate.  Seemed like a good plan over all.
