I had a go at the merc 300 before, it wasn't that quick - well not what the stats suggested anyway. It was a shame really, i'll re visit it just to double check and make sure on my findings as the car looks proper badass. I will tell you some thing though, those bars Accel, handling etc etc are just total bollocks, i have cars that out accelerate others with a much lower rating.. :D
Apart from the nissan skyline 71, the cosworth has really intrigued me because i think it could be a bit of a beast.
With regards to the paint, the finished articles get subject to a paint competition in here and we all race it as the team based paint - Damn i loved those civics :D
If people want me to test some thing, then build it up and set the aeros to a minimum and send it accross, I'll run it and add it to my sheet if it hit the 2.19 or less.
I've been working on a omni (trackassasins) and fiesta both fwd hitting top 150 and even top 50's on some tracks....mostly short /med tracks very forgiving and and easy to drive if u guys are interested? The fiesta will most likely be our next release. Fiesta has a ken block livery, omni has no paint
As some of you know, I have a strange affection for public lobbies. Of course, my hours are oddball (work from 7pm-5:30am), but I'm totally down for this when I'm available. Do you guys schedule "raids" for specific times? I actually have some 2old paint for the GT-R as well, so I'll send it to someone on my friends list who also has tourney on their list. Never hesitate to shoot me a race invite!
Your fellow emissary to the public hoppers,
Dog8, 2o4f ambassadors club
I was messing around a bit today and built a Peugot 107 in C class that would be good for most of the tracks outside of the 'ring (tops out at 130). Not really sure if it's a LB car or not, but it is pretty mean for a FWD.
The Pontiac Fiero is another really good car, but it's a DLC car, so I'm not sure if that puts it out of the running.
I'll keep looking at different builds and if I stumble across something I'll let you know. If you're interested in any I'll gift them over to ya.
added you too the list and will get the tune over today, it is the first draft so will go through a number of refinements and possibly builds for each track come the end of it.
DLC doesn't matter too much since most people have it - happy to give them a shake down emezmer :)
I got your skyline tune last night and ran it around some in the puclic hoppers to very good results. You built yours quite a bit different than I built my "mock" tune, and yours is much better. I'll probably hot-lap it some today and get a benchmark (at least for myself) that I can compare it to some other cars that I'm messing about with.
Also, last night I ran with the Mazda FB RX-7 and was I killing everybody in the lobby with it, and the faster guys were running nothing but civics AND switching tunes on every track. I was running one general tune that I threw together in about 5 minutes, so I'm pretty sure that with a little refinement it might be able to be even better.
I'll gift over the RX-7 tune today, just because I think it's well worth a look, but I don't want to drown you in a bunch of fuckerry, so I'm gonna go sift through my other cars with a fine-toothe comb before I submit them over to you. If I can't beat my benchmark with your skyline, then it'd be a waste of your time to send you all of these tunes over.
Basically - What i'm looking for is to build a car that isn't known in public lobbies - like i mentioned before, avoid hondas, 550s etc.
Working on the 323 at the moment, its trailing the 71 by .5 sec but there is a bunch of push on turn in that needs to get sorted. Cosorth will be up next :)
I got a tune from surf and I'm having a hard time keeping up with people in public lobbies. Power wise it feels fine but I feel the suspension needs a little more rigidity in the bump setting of the dampers. It takes too long for the weight to transfer and that really hurts the car when you need to make quick transitions or corrections.

Quick transitions are mostly ascociated with ARBs where as the bumps are for asorbing quick suspension compression. Can you tell me what corner state you are having trouble with. I was considering upping the arb's by about 2/3 points to improve responsiveness. But there is some thing else i need to dial out first.
I'm having problems steady state cornering, corner entry, and initiall turn in after braking. Along with transitions in s bends and rapid elevation changes. Tracks like road atlanta and maple valley the car will not take a set in long corners it just leans and bounces.
Edit: when I say lean and bounce it is transitioning between over and understeer. The inside tires are wanting to come off the ground then suddenly plant then come back up again. I tried stiffening up the roll bars and it helped a bit but it feels little wishy washy still. I didn't want to make any big changes to the settings so I left it at that. Maybe we can run some laps and get it figured out.
Got it - Sounds like rebound + ARB spacing. I have already done some work on the that area as i knew there was a slight inbalance. It have given me about .5 sec overall. Will try and get back on it tomorrow/Sat.
Got the fiat 500 working reasonably well. Wont beat those 550's though, but fun to drive, some minor adjustments and that will be one for the lobbies.
Still working on the Skyline, but haven't touched it till yesterday.
I still think we need two tunes for the publics. One for grip tracks (majority), and another for speed tracks. A tune for each track isn't necessary, but you do need the two basic types.
On the grip tracks the car we have works brilliantly. I put it up #320 at Cat National. On speed tracks it suffers though; driving as hard as I could at Sebring Club (a track I'm very familiar with) I could only place it #929. I know that Sebring Club is a speed track so the results weren't surprising.

1st Draft Tune is coming and started team paint untill people get their entries in :)
Can't really roll on this until we know what the canvas will be?
BUT, if you use a paintable rim, can go black with rim/graphic same color?
Also just changed the paint to black - looks much better! :)
Fiesta is a lb car so it should be up there :) - not sure how the omni is though.

RX7 - Now that sounds interesting!! :)

The canvas for the skyline is set :) Put race aero on it and konig rims.

me
Let´s do this again, I´m with you guys!!!
EDIT: How about Nissan 240SX?? I quess it´s not too popular @ circuit racing...?
Awesome :D I couldn't get a build quick enough on it :(
So the Austin's too popular for this, right?
Dont think i've seen it in the top 100's yet :) I have seen the cortina in there alot though.
The Austin's a sweet ride.
Yeah - Deffo holds potential :)

Bigdaddy...send me a f/r via xbl and send you the most current one that I have when I log next. Prolly be on in a few hrs.
I have another in the works - Just got some thing missing from it that i cant put my hands on :)
Need my tuning buddy back! :D
Any updates fellas?

Sounds good. I just wanted to make sure that this was still moving forward since this thread had kind of fallen off.
