The Following

I've been waiting for this show to come out for awhile, and the seasons first two episodes have been great, and I'm loving it. Kevin Bacon, is pretty good in it, I was wondering how he'd do on tv. The cast so far is excellent, and the story so far seems to focus on a serial killer who escaped from prison. He's a college professor who not only teaches but is obsessed with Edgar Allen Poe, and murders women, believing it to be art. The story starts with his breakout from prison, and reveals the past story through flashbacks, revealing details as they're needed so it doesn't clog up the main story, nor leave people confused.

Is anyone else watching this? What do you think about it so far?

GB, I have been watching and enjoying the show so far. Its disturbing and dark. KB is pretty good and I like his flawed character. I know Criminal Minds has lasted many years but I wonder if people are ready to support another show with the subject matter that is involved.

BBC America just started to air Ripper Street, I have started to watch that as well. I recommend at least read up on it and watch the first episode.

Honestly, they lost me as a viewer after last nights episode (Feb 25). It started great and I watched every one. But last night they expected me to believe that a combined effort of police and FBI left a GIGANTIC hole in their perimeter for 2 people to get in, then 3 people plus a child to just be able to wander off, one seriously wounded. And wouldnt you know it, they came across a guy to carjack on a supoosedly blocked road. Come on. Then KB just lets the girl and kid drive off. Sure he was having "chest pains" or whatever, but how hard would it have been to shoot a tire or two, or at least announce where he was on his radio or the dead traitor agent. And what is with the constant traitors anyway? There always seems to be an "insider". And in next weeks episode, after escaping, murdering 5 people, and starting all this, they are going to pull some legal crap for him to transfer and most likely escape?!? BS. And on top of all that there is somehow a military unit under the control of a serial killer from prison? It's gotten away from what made it great, a few psycho followers doing the will of a madman, to some sort of ridiculous insurgency type thing.

I can let a lot slide in a show for the sake of the story. But after last nights episode, I know they are just going to keep dragging it out and making it more and more ridiculous each time.

This.  The whole escape from the farm house was so terribad.   It's just silly.  I'd single out a thing or two but the whole episode was so far fetched.   No way any of that would happen.

And how did this clown get so many people to follow suit.  And to have this all so pre-planned.  Bullshit.

He has to escape (again), doesn’t he?  How else can he continue to recruit an endless supply of self-sacrificing psychos?  You know, to keep the series going?

I’ve wondered how long they would be able to keep the premise solidly intact.  I kind of expected the show to turn into something like an edgy version of the Mentalist, where episodes have plots of their own and the uber psycho with his cult following becomes a side story only featured for season ending cliff hangers.  Doesn’t sound like they’re headed that way, and that they’re trying too hard to keep the original cast of villains relevant.

Really liked the first couple of episodes.  Then it started to get a bit predictable.  I’m a couple episodes behind, but am still hoping  . . . . . . .

I'm sorry last episode just was so insanely stupid.

The show started of so good, and just went down hill from there.

FBI, Police, SWAT, etc.. house sorrounded.. they get away.  Seriously? Are you fucking serious?

But thats not the worst part, full face palm when the guys throws a smoke grenade walks out a door, and a swat guy just three seconds behind him peeks out the door, and says "He's gone".

And worst watching next week's previews, you know whats going to happen, you know where this is heading, and you are asking yourself, SERIOUSLY?!

My wife loves the show but I said "Sorry honey, you're flying solo on this one, ekattan OUT!".

I bailed awhile back. The first two episodes seemed OK, but  it's kind of insulting ( to your presumed intelligence ) at this point.
